For anyone looking to study, I tried putting together the most up-to-date set of Appendix B flashcards based on OTCNINST 1530-6J, which I believe is the the most current version of that document. I tried to phrase all of the questions in a format similar to how a DI would scream them at you, and I made sure to use the exact verbiage from the document, because I know they can be assholes about that. These cover the Big 4 (code of conduct, general orders, marine/navy insignias/ranks, and about half of the chain of command since we learn the rest once we get there) and I threw the sailor's creed in there too.

Anyways, here you go: https://quizlet.com/257039272

If you find any mistakes or have any suggestions, let me know, or just copy the cards and make changes if these get outdated before you end up leaving.

Hey everyone, just wondering what the normal wait time for SNA FINSEL's is? Not in any rush to get to OCS, just trying to figure out the job situation. Asking for a friend.

I'm guessing that means I asked a stupid question? Sorry, I'm just a little ignorant and the poor Lt. than runs my office is over worked, under paid, and I think on leave at the moment.

If you look at previous boards, FINSELs come through at random times. Some people get theirs 2 months before reporting, some get theirs 1 week before reporting. They're not like PRO-RECs that come in a batch. So the answer is that there is no "normal" wait times when it comes to FINSEL.

Ok thanks for explaining. Guess I'll just hurry up and wait. Hooya.

Recruiter told me this morning that I’ve been put up for an April class. Could be either 8 APR or 29 APR, but she said they just can’t see in the system which one it is I’m slotted for. No FINSEL or paperwork out yet so I’m trying not to get too excited, buuuut I’m excited!

Checking out (I think?). Got a call from my recruiter that they are processing me for the 18 March 2018 OCS class.

FYI if you haven't already, make sure you set up an SSO pre-clearance interview (for any Intel board selects). That is what was holding up my FINSEL.

See everyone soon!

Do NFO's need an SSO interview as well? From what I understand we need TS/SCI.
