Check-In #2. this time for the IWC board. PROREC: Y for Cryptologic Warfare :D. Was told by my command and OCM that I should be getting my class date very soon. Hopefully some of us will get the chance to meet at OCS in person!

That's a demerit.
Anyone else still waiting from the April SNA/SNFO board? Getting kinda bummed about this wait. After having to resubmit fingerprints twice (last one was digital scans) after Pro-Rec Y, and I keep getting told that "they need pilots and NFOs", I cannot help but feeling like I am missing something (or someone handling my kit). I just want to get going here /end rant

My recruiter let me know today that my background check/anything else that was pending since being PROREC'D-Y for SWO in May has now been completed. At this time we are just waiting on an official OCS date/FINSEL. Does anyone know anything about the timeframe between these two items?

In addition, does swearing in at MEPS take place after one receives their FINSEL? And is a FINSEL the same thing as receiving orders, or do orders come later on, after you've officially sworn in?

Thanks in advance.

Also just waiting on my FINSEL and orders. Was originally told I could be going to the 06 AUG 17 class but now it is looking like 27 AUG 17. Need to stop being impatient ;), I think Mr. Celestin is getting a bit annoyed with me ha.

That being said I believe the 06 AUG Class is officially full. He told me the way it works (and I am sure this is repeat info) is that they have allotted slots for each designator in each class (X number of SWO/ SNA/ CRYPTO and so on). So even though a class may not be full they may not be able to take you for that class because your designator slot is full.

I am currently in the same spot you are. My recruiter was informed that high priority is on Pilots/NFO for OCS. Even with that one of my recruiter's recruits who was selected Pilot did not receive his FINSEL/OCS date till two months after he was picked up at the boards.

With regards to receiving FINSEL and swearing in, from what I can tell when you get your FINSEL is when you swear into the Navy. Additionally, when you receive your FINSEL it will typically come with your class date.

My recruiter told me that once your FBI investigation is done your FINSEL should arrive within a few weeks. You swear right after you receive your FINSEL before going to OCS. Your FINSEL has your OCS date which to my understanding is your orders for reporting to OCS.

Commissioned January 12th 2018.
Check in #2. I was sworn in on June 26th and signed all the enlistment papers. I took my oath of enlistment and I am still scheduled to go to the September 17th OCS class. Anybody that hears that they are in the same class please let me know.
