Dorvo doesn't have a web ad that nearly made me cry laughing, though.

"your handsome ass grandfather had one blade, and polio!"

Forgot about this gem.

Eh, I signed up for DSC and cancelled after the first shave. Definitely the worst blade I've ever used.

My wife was kind enough to surprise me with an art of shaving kit last Christmas complete with a badger hair brush. I feel classy every morning now.

AoS has good stuff, but it is way overpriced. That, and you can easily make your own shaving oil if you care to. I started with AoS but am currently using Proraso stuff. Price and the fact that it's Italian and readily available here are added bonuses. YMMV.

Just looked up Proraso. I like the vintage barber shop look. I may give the cream a try when I run out; it is much cheaper than AoS.

So no $hit there I was

In my experience instead of spending the premium for pre-shave cream, just use Noxzema. Pretty much the same stuff. However I use Proraso for my aftershave splash and lotion.

Sephora (largely a make=up store) has an AOS sample kit every year at Christmas, or at least they've had it the last 2 years. Small brush, shaving cream, oil, and some other product (all sample sizes), for $10. It's a great deal. If you like the AoS stuff, check out Sephora come late November and see if they have it again this year.

I went to the Dorco website by following the link and the blades were not that much cheaper. A six month suppy for $31 compared to DSC price of $36. I guess maybe Dorco raised their prices recently?
