Document-hungry MEPS

Skywalker

I said "yes" to two medical items and one "criminal" item on the paperwork my NOR put in to MEPS, and after 6 weeks, they finally came back with their requests for documents.

They want more information on one of the medical items, in this case PRK I had back in 2014. The conflict arises with the following fact: my optometrist and the firm that performed the surgery handed over all of the documents they had.

I asked my recruiter what I should do, and she said to "just get the documents."

Obviously they can in the literal sense, but can MEPS ask for documents that don't exist? That is to say, what can I do to appease them, or is this a stopping point?

Meps needed specific documents regarding my PRK that didn't exist.
The doctor at meps printed out what they needed and I went back to my doctor to have them fill out the forms.

Like Nburdett and RUFiO181 stated, find out what documents MEPS wants and send them to the Doc and/or have the doc explain that everything was already turned in.

In my case MEPS was willing to accept a personal writeup explaining that the doc who did my actual surgery retired and nobody knew where he was, was a visiting doc to the hospital at the time, the hospital I did the surgery at shutdown, and the new regional hospital did not have any other documentation.
