The interviews are what going to make you or break you.
Curious, does anyone besides those on the board truly know how they weight certain aspects of ones package? We can speculate all day.The interviews are what going to make you or break you.
I think you answered your own question LOL… sound like a great candidate. Seems like your competition would be similar background plus prior service. Good luck!
Thanks! With that logic, it seems Navy evals would hold a lot of weight, as it is a navy official document. LORs from current officers could also hold a lot of weight. The interviews I would argue are the biggest weight for the DCO boards. Bear in mind, a resume isn't an official/governing document and applicants can easily "pad" work experience, job titles, accomplishments, etc. that might not even be true. DCO board members are 100% aware of this and have been able to really tell those who do.
Similar to the civilian sector, interviews allow those in the organization to actually "gauge" the candidate and see if they would be a good fit to the team. You can have the best resume ever in terms of experience, education and certifications, however if you are not a good fit in terms of the interview, it can really sink your odds.
