Here's a great one for pork chops

Marinate pork chops in some white vinegar and oil for about an hour, add salt and pepper to taste.

Put chops in a baking dish and cover with cream of mushroom soup and add some garlic (fresh roasted cloves work best, but any garlic will do) and a small amount of water/milk for the soup base (I use water when I don't have milk in the fridge). Bake at 325 for about 45 mins to an hour or more depending on how thick the chops are.

Serve over rice or egg noodles (I may try muddle's mashed potatoes next time) . Add some veggies and you've got a good meal.

Here's one that my wife and I rely on when we're in the mood for something QUICK, healthy, cheap and tasty. Yes, it hits all four wickets.

Tilapia goes for about $4.99/lb where I live, and frozen stir-fry veggies are $1.50 /bag - you can't beat it.

What you need:
Tilapia filet(s)
(1) Bag stir-fry veggies
Old Bay Seasoning
Garlic Salt
Butter/Margarine
Lemon
9x13 Baking pan
Tin Foil
Non-Stick Spray

How you do it:
Preheat oven to 375. Spray pan with non-stick and lay filets in. Season filets with Old Bay & Garlic Salt. Top with pat of butter and lemon slice per filet. Spread frozen veggies in free space left in pan. Cover with tin foil, put in oven. Post on AirWarriors for 25-30 minutes, pull pan out (fish should be flakey) and you now have a full meal - Fish + Veggies and it cost you about $6!

I just cooked up some PhrogPhish, and it was great. I used a skillet instead of a baking pan (dont have one) and lime vice lemon.

Came out great, 30 min and real easy to make.

Helpful and healthy quick meals

Master,

Here are a couple of quick ideas for healthy foods that are easy to make:

1. Baked Potato a la:

- Pesce. Bake the potato, split it in half, put some tuna fish on top, with a touch of cheese. Back in the microwave for 35 seconds.

- Fundicchio. Bake the potato, split it in half, put some broccoli and cheese on top. Back in the microwave for 20 seconds.

- Pollo. Bake the potato, split it in half, put some slices of chicken lunchmeat, or the chicken chunks, plus a little cheese. Back in the microwave...

2. Your vegetables. Always need those. In the frozen foods section you can by the microwaveable pouches - 99cents. Quick, easy, healthy, and little mess.

3. Soups. Making soup is surprisingly easy, and you can make a big pot on the weekend, then use it as meals throughout the week. Water, vegetables, and any kind of meat that you want (chicken breast, precut stew chunks, fish, etc.), plus the following spices are pretty standard: salt, pepper, parsley, sage, basil, and bay leaves. Takes about 15 minutes to cut the vegetables and season the soup, then let it cook for about 3 hours.

Hope this helps.

The Super-HEB in Flour Bluff rocks.

The Krock-HEB is not bad, but not great.

The Commissary here has good meat and not much else.

I'm sensing a theme here.
