Which is exactly why it never was a plan in my experience. SE to a spot with the brakes on and if you slide a little on the non-skid, so be it. Honestly, if there was any single-spot ship I had to land SE on, it would be a FFG since the flight deck is so long and relatively flat.

Well, we didn't exactly plan on it, either! But when you're an independent deployer alone and unafraid with no alternatives but the drink...it made sense. Agreed, FFG deck was able to handle it. LCS 2-variant ships are also a great option, though they have to actually get underway first...

Having done this once as well, agree!

Of note, Navy V-22 will be taking Cat 1s out of Primary starting in January 2019.

All quiet on the JOPA rumor mill WRT transitions plussing up the community and/or adding rotor DNA.

My understanding is that there are several VRC folks at 204 or in other VMMs gaining hours with the V-22. A few months ago an all USN crew flew a V-22. DT and OT squadrons both have USN V-22 pilots on staff. Airplanes are being built and should be flown in about a year.

Has the Navy undergraduate pipeline and CAT I FRS syllabus been worked out? Will these mimic the respective Marine flows?

Word is that they’re looking to prohibit rotary transitions into the CMV-22 community...

They might be looking but they aren't acting, yet. They solicited volunteers last DH board with plans to do it this board as well.
