ghost - From what I remember (took the test 1 year ago today! lol.), it seemed to be a little more complicated than it looked on the study guide. It has some word problems, mostly geometery, some trig, and a graph or two. But I'm a history major (ie:the worst math student on the planet!), so it may have just seemed harder to me. The test is supposed to give some of the formulas you need for the problems, but I only remember my test having the radius of a circle or something.

Hints:
So look over your geo. equations so you'll remember them for the test.
Examples from USMC guide: #s - 18,22,26,27,28,29,42,46,47
Also, be sure to know how to find the area of a portion that is removed from a shape (ie: a triangle shape hole in a square).

Hope that helps a little!

Do you happen to remember what kind of graphs were there on the word problem form? Thanks!

I remember one test that had no graphs and another test that had three. Know the USMC test cold and you'll do fine. If maths a big problem then don't stop at the Marine test, get a "Princeton Review" Algebra study book and hit that as well. To this day though, the one that made the difference for me is still Arco's algebra word problems.

Quit?? Hell no, I'll be flying one of these days, not sure if my wings will be silver or gold, but one way or the other I'll be military airborne.

Has any one seen the new version of the ARCO study guide? Is it any better than the old version?

I've heard it is better but I have not gone and looked at it.

Since there is so much talk about the arco book. Maybe someone can answer this. I got this out of the reading or verbal portion on the air force practice test.
Gown is to Garment(sp?) as Gasoline is to...Fuel correct. Not according to the arco. It said the correct choice was lubercation. So the moral is take what you can from the book but stick with your gut if you think the answer is correct. Oh by the way Alpha is to Omega as ... check and see if you agree.

I studied the new Arco book last night. It has the same Q's as the last edition, or atleast the prictice ASTB is the same. I didn't look through the rest, but I'm sure it's the same damn book just different cover.
