Huh? All late war USN birds were all over floss sea blue. That airplane is blue and green.

Also, late war there was no VF-17 Jolly Rogers. The original VF-17 Jolly Rogers was disestablished in 44. VF-84 flew as the Jolly Roger during the late war. VF-17 was re-established as a late war Hellcat Squadron.
You are right about VF-17, I have a book that shows one in 44 with a similar scheme (black and white image), but the colors on the T-34 look to me like sea blue, gull gray, and insignia white kind of like the Hell Diver seen below.

I think I can come up with a competitive bid to have civilian pilots perform that mission. Waste of a F-18 pilot to perform that mission and maintain NATOPS qual in a turbo Weenie. Negative training and all. What do ya say Chuck? You can be COO. I'll be Chief Pilot West and @maddog Chief Pilot East. Just need a name for the company. Oh, and sorry about the lunch run guys. No good deals left in this Navy.
You shut your mouth, sir. Flying those things out of Oceana is a blast. So many trips down the outer banks, or into Tangier island for she crab soup.
We tried to sell CNATRA on replacing the T-34s with T-45s at Tailhook one year. He laughed at us pretty hard.

Yeah, the T-34 doesn’t look like the mid-war tri-color to me but might a monitor thing or something like “The Dress” (blue and black).

The lighter color on the 34 looks teal, or, dare I say cyan? But too bright to be intermediate blue. And the darker color looks green to me.

Edit: scheme is based on a spitfire paint job: https://www.dvidshub.net/news/25796...-34-aircraft-fleet-readiness-center-southeast

tangier! Don’t sheer a starter or the locals will have their way with you to add some depth to their gene pool.

Never had the chance to fly the Turbo-Weenie but I heard she could stop on a dime and you could smoke a cigar while flying with the canopy down...allegedly...

The T-6 doesn't have reverse?

It does not. Allegedly a side effect of it being a joint venture with the USAF and their long runways - incidentally, the same reason was also cited in the ready room for the lack of a tacan and the tiny tires/brakes

It's all about having those 22 volts when you flip the battery on.

You can have Tangier...Personally I enjoyed flying them out of the Bahamas.
