Good luck to you all! Graduated last Sep 4th. One word of advice I can give is to not be so uptight, especially the first 3 weeks. I was one of the only people who kept my cool the whole time and never snapped at each other. Guys in my class look back and wondered why they were always tripping. And Week 8's difficulty is overrated. I hated OCS when I was going through it, but looking back, I can't really say it was hard. You just gotta grind your way through it. Last, just try your best not to get injured. There was a girl who got their November of last year, and when I graduated, she was still in Week 1. Injuries were easily the biggest people rolled.

Thanks for the input! Did you drive or fly? What did you pack that you didn't need? and what did you not pack that you wished you had?
Sorry for the questions, I have a bunch more, but you are a golden opportunity to get questions answered!

How did you schedule your wisdom teeth being removed? Something they'll let you know? Still got mine in, they don't seem to be a problem but I guess they decide that?

I have been wondering about this. I still have my wisdom teeth in and they aren't necessarily a problem but will they want to take them out just to be safe?

I emailed OTC Newport about the wisdom teeth issue. There is a dental check where they will determine to pull or not. The tooth pull procedure will occur in the Candio phase. So it's not an issue of rolling back a class or not. It seems like there are a few of us all in the same situation.

I grew up really far from the water!! I live in an area where several different deserts come together, but I grew up in a family of former Navy and flying has always been a dream and passion, so being picked up aviation is a dream come true!

Hey everyone. My husband will be classing up with 06-16 the first week. Just wanted to put the link for the Family and Friends group that has been created for your class. Tell your loved ones that it's been a great resource for them to learn about what is going on and to be able to talk with others going through the same thing. Good luck to all of you and I wish you all nothing but luck!! Take things 1 day at a time and as my husband says, "Just drink the koolaid!"

You snapped at me once or twice! But you did keep your cool just fine.

Hey guys,

First of all good luck. I just graduated OCT 16. Hooyah class 01-16! If you guys have any last minute questions feel free to drop me a line. The best thing I can put out there is keep studying appendix bravo if you haven't started already. The importance of that cannot be overstated. Also the second week is absolutely the worst week make it through that and you can make it through anything. More than likely you will be getting chief holcomb as one of your chiefs and maybe senior chief smith. I don't know if you will get two chiefs or not but definitely holcomb likes to give demerits for bearing and chow hall procedures and smith is actually really nice in a tough way. Its a rough time but all in all I look back and gotta say I loved it. Have fun with it guys and take each day as it comes and never stop screaming!
