4 DEC 17 IWC Board

I have no idea. He specifically said more than normal around 80 Intel. Ive heard that same number from some other people on the DCO thread. Guess we'll find out in a month or so

I would bet that is the approx number for all DCO IWC, that would make sense, the processors at NRC often generalize and they wouldn't have specific numbers only the director would and he passes that number to the DCO board.

I have also heard the rumor of “more” than last year’s 53 intel DCO. But, I’ll believe it when I see the board results.

He specifically said "more than normal Intel will be selected this year" and said I may actually have a shot after I told him my credentials

unless you were talking to the director they wouldn't know, in fact no one would know the actual number as it often doesn't come out until sometimes as late as Feb, that is why DCO will select alternates.

talking to a processor at NRC is like talking to the E-3 serving sliders at midnight, the processors are the lowest individual at NRC and their information is wrong most of the time, some of the items they have been wrong about has been pretty amusing, in one instance the processor told a person hear the board was going to start in a few weeks and the next day the results were out.

Idk he said he is the guy that pretty much approves/checks off all the packages before they go to the board I have spoken with my specific processors I doubt they know anything numbers wise as far as selection

Just make sure you are the #1 candidate. They have to pick at least one person. ;)

you know that 80 could easily be correct as they pick alternates as well for DCO programs since they only do one board per year, often the board results list "selections" and "alternates" but only the selections are counted as the actual number.

What do you mean by "alternates" ?

each year people end up dropping an not taking the commission for one reason or another, if they need 50 people for DCO Intel and select 50 then if someone drops they will miss the goal, so they often will select 50 and say 5 alternates as an insurance policy, in some cases the alternates will be designated selections for the next FY, but often they go back into the pool to reapply.

The other things they have done is over-selected to ensure they get who they need since they just have a guess as the actual goal, in that case if they think they need 60, but pick 80, then actual goal is 50 they will then slide those to the next FY, or they will issue a "no quota" letter which means yes you were selected but sorry we don't have a spot next year so reapply.

I saw many DCO applicants get a "no quota" letter in the past due to the DCO boards often over-selecting, the board could be held at a better time in my opinion to minimize this.

Do applicant's receive letters or just their recruiter saying PRO Y or N?
