Congratulations!

My recruiter just contacted me as well. PRO REC - N for INTEL. Devastated. However, I will not give up and will resubmit again. I cannot think of anything else I can do to improve my INTEL package other than obtaining a higher OAR score. Probably have to rewrite my motivational statement as well.

Sorry to hear about this... I don't know what the procedure is for resubmitting but you should definitely try again, given your Intel background.

Pro Rec -N this go around. Definitely disappointed, but I'm not ready to give up. Was told I have to wait 6 months to reapply which unfortunately puts me at 31 years old which I believe will put me beyond 24 month prior enlisted waiver for a lot of officer career paths. I'm going to keep trying though. Any advice for package improvements is welcome. Obviously I will be researching and talking with my recruiter. Congrats to everyone that was selected.

Hmm. Interesting! The highest level of mathematics I completed at the collegiate level was pre-calculus trigonometry. I guess there just is NO telling what the board is looking for. I believe in the “whole person concept” now more than ever. It must have been my GPA that got me past the tech hurdle. Whatever the reason, I am grateful!

Do you know anything about the statistics of this board yet? I don’t know if recruiters get that information or if only the board knows.

It was your high GPA, "whole person concept" is some BS that is spouted over and over for OCS but the stats have continued to prove it false, if a person can work hard and earn a high GPA that shows they are trainable.

There was another OR I worked with that had a person picked for Intel at a board who had a 3.9 (about) GPA, the person only went to school, no extra activities at all, that high GPA is a key factor.

You may want to jump into the next SWO board while you have the chance, for SWO your stats are fairly decent, hate to tell you but for IWC you have a nothing special degree with a nothing special GPA.

That's fair. I was hoping my more recent OAR and job experience would supersede my older GPA, but it is what it is. I've been told SWO and aviation have a 24 month age waiver from 29 years old, and I'm 6 months from 31st birthday. My recruiter says I can't apply for any program for 6 months after a ProRec-N putting me a month from my 31st birthday. Do you know if there's a waiver for the waiver or am I misinformed on the age req?

the new SWO PA has an increased age to 35 I believe, and it is that you cannot apply for the same designator within 6 months without a change in your application.

Will an improved OAR score count as a change in my application? My recruiter told me there is another IWC board this January. I will be deploying soon so I will not be able to enroll in a Masters program anytime soon. Sent you a PM.

They don't just roll your package to the next board and stack you up against new applicants? What if the person was on the edge of getting selected? Seems like a waste of a good candidate.

nope, forms change, people add experience, etc......

while a person maybe be the one that just missed the cut, the next group coming in will have a bunch of other great candidates so no guarantee they will make the cut the next time, or even be close.

Has anyone else heard results or know stats from this board? This thread seems so dead compared to previous IWC ones.
Maybe people are chatting on FB instead. I don't have a FB account so I wouldn't know. I'm still wondering if anyone from the Sep IWC board has received orders to OCS yet.
