Does everyone have their travel plans set? Do you have a hotel for Saturday night? Have you set up transportation from the airport to your hotel and then to base Sunday? Plan to arrive by mid-late morning on Sunday. There is A LOT to do and it will be a long day! I hope you're ready!!! Your life is about to change forever! Its a great thing and you have all worked hard to get here. Remember, it will be a challenging marathon! You decided to pursue military service in the best damn Navy in the history of the world for a reason! Keep that in mind during every day of training! See you on Sunday! If you have questions or concerns let me know. - LT Withrow
Thank you for all of your help and guidance- look forward to meeting you Sunday!

...So I have a very last minute problem and I am not too sure what I should do. The command I just left has submitted an award for me that due to admin processes ended up getting delayed and they weren't able to present it to me before I left. Last I heard they are expecting it to be back around mid-October. Due to this I didn't order a set of medals to bring with me. I was wondering if I should order them now and send them to our address at OCS or wait and see for my award to come through and then hopefully have an opportunity during OCS to order them.

I wasn't sure at what point we would need them. If it was just graduation or for inspections prior to graduation. I didn't really want to have to order 2 sets of medals that are over $100....

Thank you for any advice you guys have!

I think part of the admin items needed is your PG4 or awards print out from NSIPS. They do not check it. If you know you got an award like a NAM or COMM, you could add it to your rack and no one would know.

You will need these for your six week inspection. You will go to uniform issue week 3 after RLP . You can submit an order through the uniform shop during khaki issue.

Hey all! As a proud OCS grad I have a few tidbits of advice, take it or leave it. 1. Bring a brand new to very newish pair of running shoes. 2. Be ready for the IST, if you fail, you roll. No orange belt, you roll. That means 3 more weeks (at least): that being said, be sure you can do pushups with a straight back and that your elbows break 90 degrees when down, be able to do correct sit-ups, be able to run. Go to the OCS website program requirements page to get the specifics on the PRT. Be ready! 3. Eliminate the words "I cant," "I quit," or in OCS terminology "I D.O.R." from your vocab. You have worked hard to get to OCS, don't let a little pain and pressure scare you away. Your future commission is worth it. 4. The required knowledge for verbatim memorization is on the OCS website. Do yourself a favor and learn as much of it as possible before reporting aboard. Your brains are going to get so packed with knowledge while there the more you can prepare, the more successful you'll be. 5. Come prepared with the right items. Go to the OCS website and look at the list under required paperwork/items of what to bring. Part of being a Naval Officer is being prepared which means doing your homework to know what is required. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me. Good luck, and welcome to the best damn Navy in the world.

@navygraig Your advice is very helpful, thank you for posting it. I have a few questions, but first I just want to clarify - are "report date" and "class convening date" the same thing? If my report date is set for 18 Oct 15 what will be my class in terms of 04-16, 05-16, etc.? I was trying to figure out how the new fiscal year/timing of class start dates works.
