I'm out doing some pre-OCS shopping and was wondering if anyone knows if we will need blue undershirts. I believe we will be issued them when we arrive but I'm looking to bring some better quality stuff with me. I browsed the thread mentioned above but since I'm on my phone I may have missed something. Thanks.

Booked a room at the Chalet. Anyone else staying there?
I will be in this class as well. I left from South Dakota last weekend and I am in Michigan right now with my family. I will head out of here Friday after I swear in and head to RI. If anyone needs picked up along the way let me know. I have plenty of room. I will be in the Chalet most likely Friday night (depending on swear in time), but for sure on Saturday.

I left Albuquerque today, and staying in Oklahoma City tonight. Depending on the weather I'll probably be going northeast from here on the 44 and hope to be in on Friday afternoon. Can't wait to see you all soon!!

Anybody checked out the temps in Newport lately? It's a brisk 14 degrees with a 'real feel' of 0 today. Not to fear, though. Looks like it'll warm up a bit in time for our report date. Can't wait! :)
Be safe on your drive, William!

I thought I saw that it was going to be in the 20s on Saturday and Sunday, but next week is looking a *smidge* warmer (if that's what you want to call it). I'm dreading this cold, but still excited! Just got my flight info and booked my room! We're down to the wire guys!

Do you have a face book page for your group for family when you are in? Many classes start one I.e. USN OCS class 09-13 and it is great for family and friends to talk when you are in and keep each other up on information. If you have one can you post the name? I know a family whose son starts this Sunday also.

There is a face book page your class started. Navy OCS 27 Jan2013. There is only one administrator so if family and friends join there should be another administrator that won't be at OCS so they can add family and friends. It is vey helpful for them to be in touch with each other when you all are out of communication.

Don't buy them. You will be issued a specific brand/color of blue undershirts that you are required to wear at OCS with your Navy Working Uniform (NWU).

Does anyone know the exact paperwork we are supposed to bring? My recruiter said I don't need to bring anything such as social security card and birth certificate.

Check out the OCS website and the guide to success packet that your OR should have given you. My best answer as a Recruiter is to bring it all. It is better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. B.C., SSN, Physical if you have a copy, and ALL dependents information as well.

I was in class 01-13, I'll just give some last minute advice.

-Be ballistic with the DIs and Class Chiefs
- When you get there look at the Officer Candidate Regulations, especially appendix B, it has all the gouge and more than what your little booklet has. The OCR also has answers to most of your questions.
- Always refer yourself in third person. This Indoctrination Candidate/This Officer Candidate
-Do your best in PT and rifle drill that will make your DI very happy
-When you start wearing NWUs, make sure your boots are shined, your buttons are buttoned, and you have no IPs or threads sticking out anywhere. Always be inspection ready
- Make sure you know your gouge, it can save you from failing an inspection, especially RLP.
- Help each other out, when it comes to the inspections, again especially with RLP. Some people may be better folders, others can shine shoes really well, whatever it is your good at.
- Never ever leave your rifle out of your locker or leave your locker unlocked, when you leave your room
-When you get to Candidate Officer phase don't relax your discipline because you can still be get RPTd by the staff
