2018 AMDO Board

I was just made aware of the Deadline change form the 19 JAN to 12 JAN this past week. Luckily I was already ready to submit. Good luck!

@zachm5 can you provide a reference for the date change information? The board schedule on NPC still says 19 January. Additionally, I was just in the OCM's office today discussing my package/timeline and he didn't mention anything about a date change. I'd imagine he would've since he ultimately sets up the selection board. I'm scheduled to submit mine on Friday (the 12th) anyway, but if the deadline has moved that could be problematic if a discrepancy is discovered in the package.

@DunderMifflin if you go to the board schedule forum on here and scroll down to the revised excel Doc it is the 12th. I also made 2 different phone calls to NRC this past week to verify and I was told by an NCC who deals with the AMDO program the 12th is the date..... Also if you utilize the NPC site and go to the portal and chack that schedule it is the 12th as well.

*Note regarding the AMDO proboard deadline change*

I spoke with the AMDO OCM today and he was also unaware of the deadline change. I spoke with a local OR and he sent me the updated COMNAVCRUITCOMNOTE that shows the updated dates, which I forwarded to the OCM. He reached out to CNRC and after speaking with his POC there, they determined that since the main board schedule on NPC (Career Info > Career Counseling > Commissioning Programs > FY18 Board Schedule) was not updated, that they would not turn away any packages that arrived between the 12th and the 19th as any applicants relying on NPC (typically active duty) would not have known about the date change.

With that being said, to those who haven't yet submitted their package, I would still recommend trying to submit by the 12th if possible. For one, it allows NRC time to review the package, but also I wouldn't want to chance this above communication getting lost on someone else in the chain...

Best of luck to everyone!

Knocked out my OAR this morning, scanned and sent my package this afternoon. Glad to have it in and hopeful for the results. The board is still scheduled for 21 February, so now we all play the waiting game. Best of luck to everyone!

Thanks for thr heads up. This would've been some great information for NPC or CNRC to publish before everyone submitted their packages. One thing I'll say about my process with the OCS application so far is that it's extremely unorganized and there's little to no communication. It's crazy how many "surprises" there are.

As for the location of the board, it's hosted by NAVAIR in Patuxent River, MD.

Oh ok. Yeah I know they did it in norfolk, va this past 2017 board, so they are doing it in pax river this year? Did you turn your package in yet? Try to get that medical form asap...nobody knew about it that's why i called myself to hear it directly. Ted Williams said it is a form that npc is requiring now this year but the checklists and instruction have not been updated. I had to jump through hoops to get it because you have to make an appt usually to see the doc.

Yeah, I turned mine in on Friday. So if NPC and the checklist are BOTH out of date, how would anyone know to submit that form? I would imagine that most packages submitted will not have that form since people wouldn't know to do it in the first place. This communication gap between CNRC and the active duty applicants is frustrating to say the least. With Monday being a holiday, I doubt I'll be able to get another appointment to get a new form filled out before the 19th. Our clinic stays pretty backed up. That'd be an extremely frustrating reason to not get selected...

Yea that was the same thing I said. The medical facilities over here in norfolk were backed up because of it. All amdo applicants who turned their application in got it returned for that form including me. I was upset, as we all were, because it was not published anywhere. I would take your current 2808 and 2807-1 to your medical facility and tell them it's an emergency and you need to get the 2807-2. The doc should be able to sign off on it based on the other 2 forms. You do not have to get another physical. How do you know the board is in pax this year?

For those running into the 2807-2 issues you probably can request an extension due to last minutes changes. OCS applicants can get extension, don’t see why the FLEET kids can’t.

Luckily for me, my flight surgeon is only a text away. So I have gotten this form completed just now. Do I need to rescan my entire package with that form added, or can I submit just that form as an update? Thanks in advance.

I submitted my application on the 4th and haven't heard anything about needing a 2807-2. How long did it take for them to tell you that you needed the 2807-2 form? Paul Celestin (who sent receipt of my application) isn't in his office, but I guess I'll call Ted Williams tomorrow and make sure my application processed properly.
