Thanks! Keep trying if you decide to enlist! This was my second package... persistence is often part of the game!

I intend to try my hand again at a later date. With my age, my enlistment will have to be via AF, so hopefully cross-service won't hurt my chances later. Do you have to start all over with new LORs etc?

You can keep the LORs that you currently have, but it is a good idea to pursue others to show your sustained superior performance. Interviews and appraisals do have a timeline though... interviews/appraisals are only good for 12 months. Good luck to you!!!

The information you're telling is shit. Unless you have factual information to back things up STFU.

He cannot keep his LORs.

The information you're telling is shit.

For clarification purposes. I just looked through the 1420.1b again an did NOT see anything about any expiration dates for my LORs and Officer Appraisals. Would you please expand on what exactly is the correct info regarding using LORs and Interviews?

The recruiting manual always trumps the OPNAV 1420.1b and it specifically states LORs/DD-370s last a year.

Also, it’s strongly recommended that non-selects make changes to their application to include LORs.

What recruiting manual are you talking about specifically, the COMNAVCRUITCOMINST 1131? Does it say anything about NAVCRUIT 1131/5 forms and their retention length? I've only seen them mentioned in the OPNAV not the former. I appreciate your help clarifying.

Thanks for the clarification and the class. I was passing the info that I was given, and all of the recommendations that were in my first package were also in my second. I knew appraisals were only good for a year, as stated, but why would someone's recommendation for you change for you as a potential Officer if you don't get picked up on your first shot? My packages were submitted within a year from each other, and I did make multiple changes to my application as well as new LORs. PROREC-Y.

Robert, just checked again, nothing is there still.

Our exchange server was having issues on the ship so my CO wouldn't have been able to forward anything to me and it's the weekend here already so I do not have a way to confirm right now.

I have had a candidates application rejected by NRC because the LOR's were over 6 months old
