As a side note, for anyone who is heading to a Seabee unit, you MUST read this book: Can Do! The Story of the Seabees by William Bradford Huie. It is amazing, but having been written in the middle of WWII, it does contain harsh language and is in no wa,y shape, or form PC.

While I appreciate the grammar correction, I was writing on my cell phone and have issues with punctuation on that keyboard. It should have read
"It is amazing. Having been written in the middle of WWII it does contain harsh language and is in no way, shape, or form PC."

Good catch though. ;)

I wasn't correcting your grammar. I was only implying that the harsh language and non-PC nature should be used as selling points for the book

Then I need a lot more coffee, Dmitriy! I am sorry for misinterpreting your alterations to my post. I shall now crawl over to the coffee pot and refill.

@architectcw81 I am in the same boat. I am an architect as well and applied to the CEC, and my package was submitted in the July board. I head that I got pro'recd 15 oct and have been waiting for my finalsel ever since. My recruiter checked my status last week and told me there was a change in my status (whatever that means , I don't know) but still no final select letter yet. It was also mentioned that furlough has slowed everything down.

no, I'm not licensed yet, but i do have my masters and can start taking the exam once i find a reputable licensed architect to sign off on my IDP credits. Once into the Navy CEC, that wont be a problem. Maybe we will be in the same class. I spoke to my recruiter today and still no update.
