Has anyone received offical orders yet?
I signed my contract and got my FS letter earlier this week. Just waiting on my travel itinerary at this point... Oh and I suppose I have to do that pesky little PFA at some point in the next couple of weeks.

My FS letter is dated the 7th but I probably will not have a contract signed until the week after next. I'll do my first PFA that day also. I also have to do my first PFA that day.

Do you know if we have to do a PFA before going to OCS? I took one months ago when I submitted my application so I'm wondering if I will be required to do another one before I head out. I don't have a FS letter yet, but I expect that I'll be getting one soon.

You have to do one within 45 days of your OCS ship date. I never did an initial one so this will be my first. Depending on your OCS date and how long ago your first PFA was you may have to do another.

Did they start doing the pre-ship pfa again? I've not heard anything about doing one, but I'm ready if I do (yea for altitude training!).

I just swore in yesterday and all I did was height and weight... I think different recruiters have different info...

I had been warned about this, what kind of info have DIs gleaned from FB pages in the past? So far all the profiles look legit, unless the DIs put up fake vacation photos from 2007 or something like that (I've done a bit of vetting). What else can you really do about it?

Well nothing but "enjoy the show."

The deepest I've seen a DI dig for recon has to go to the one DI a few years back who disguised himself as a Indoctrination Candidate the first week of OCS with "sheer brilliant" acting. Again, "enjoy the show."

They must have, because my OR has me doing one in a few weeks. I think they just quit doing them for applications.

They are no longer required but the NRD can ask you to do one, most won't take the chance since if you get injured that could end your chance at OCS since you are not AD yet, and if proper procedures were not followed there could be adverse effects on the careers of those that gave you the PFA.

Those that are in BDCP or NUPOC are required to do one, this is where the confusion lies.

If you have a chance to retake the ASTB, I strongly recommend it. Your AOR is good, but the 5s on your AQR and FOFAR would be of concern if you are going SNFO. Also, NavyOffRec pointed out that most AMDO folks are prior enlisted, which should work in your favor.

Here are the stats from the AW members on the last board for SNA/SNFO who volunteered their scores:

Gee. I can't believe how low my scores are compared to the rest of those posted here :\ I graduated with a 3.3gpa liberal arts degree, 5's across the board and an OAR of 53. That being said I had other factors that contributed to my board acceptance such as strong evals throughout my 5 years active service, 3 strong LoR (one from my old chief who went LDO and is a squadron WEPS), and a very well written MS. But I'm still shocked they carried me that far when I see some of the scores that were denied SNFO. I guess the world felt fit to give me a break for once. #lucky
