What exactly do the 'raters' look for in terms of qualifying candidates when they evaluate our SWO packages? OAR scores? Prior service? Leadership? Personal Statement? Community Service?

I guess my real question is what aspect of our package hold greater value over other components?

Tech grades were Bs or better. If I don't get picked up for NUPOC I'm okay with going SWO, no big deal to me.
As expected, no for NUPOC. But my recruiter asked if he could submit for CEC also, so we'll see on that. Still applying for May SWO board though.

CEC would be hard with your GPA, and do you have your EIT?
I thought so as well, but my recruiter asked if he could submit my package. I don't currently have my EIT, but could take the FE exam if needed. In my state I'd only need to pass that to get my EIT, since I already have an engineering degree from an ABET school. I'm not even sure CEC is something I'm interested in, as I'd like to be assigned to a ship and not be land based my entire career.

You need to do a CEC interview before your application can be submitted, if you don't have a good interview then you won't get selected, I believe RUFIO may have said they don't require an EIT but it used to be they wouldn't select you if you didn't have an EIT.

Good to know. I haven't done much research into how the CEC process goes, so thanks for the info.
