Let me know what it is when you make it! Luckily I work out a lot anyways so I just have to change it up and start running more but I'll be going in knowing nothing but Appendix B and how to run haha I have a feeling I'm going to be doing a lot of push ups!

I will be smack dab in the middle of my last quarter for my masters when OCS starts. I'm thinking about doing all the work and submitting it before I leave. How are you planning on finishing or will your masters be complete by then?

A lot of running outside! I alternate between sprints and long distance. I used to run all the time on a treadmill, so a couple months ago I transitioned to running outside and the difference was/is insane
Do you use any apps to measure the distance? and is the difference when you started running outside was that significant?
p.s. so far I've been running on treadmills only..

I check my health app on my iPhone if I want an accurate assessment of my distance, but I usually just map out my run in my neighborhood or park.

I hope this makes sense, I could run 6-7 miles on a treadmill and not feel as winded as I do running 4-5 miles outside. You really feel the difference in your joints and especially your knees, so stretching is key. I try to run at least 4 miles outside a few days a week, and if I'm going for a longer run/workout, I'll start walking, go into a jog, then go into a sprint, at one mile intervals. Plus with the cold weather coming up, the preparation to run in the cold and regulate your breathing is super important.

I do lots and LOTS of pushups every day. Flat benching and incline benching until complete failure every couple of days with pushups between sets. I do 400 curl-ups a day split into what my max is (changes every day) and I do lots of pull ups. I too have been running outside. Every now and then after a weekend full of Miller I usually do HIIT training on the bike and sprints until I feel like I've learned my lesson. I also do regular weight training on top of this. I usually run once a day too. Sounds like we're all in pretty great shape!

Welcome! I could lose a few extra pounds myself.
I'm with you. I'm a big framed guy that even when in really good shape toes the line on weight requirements. Plus in the 15 months since meps I hadn't been pushing as hard as I should. Pushing now with an hour of cardio a day and some limited weights, but I don't see myself arriving in as good a shape as I'd like unless my 60 hour work weeks let up and let me fit in two a day.

If anyone has specific OCS questions, I'm happy to help. Graduated at the end of November, currently sitting around on OHARP with very little to occupy my time.

I'm going to try to have all of my research done and most of my thesis written before I leave but I'll probably come back to New Orleans to do my defense after OCS before I move to Pensacola.

I like to use the app Runkeeper when I'm running outside to keep track of distance and pace.

Up until about two weeks ago I just lifted weights 5-6 days a week. I've always hated running so that's definitely my weak spot. Now I'm doing 4 days a week of just two miles as fast as I can, 1 day 3 mile tempo run, and 1 long (4 mile) run on top of my lifting routine. Suppose I should start putting down the weights for just plain old push ups though.
