Since we are now within 4 months from our commission date we are eligible for the USAA Career Starter Loan. We do have to wait until the office is open on Monday to apply online though. Just an FYI.

You guys are probably all in OCS by now, but rather than start a new thread, I figure I'd ask here anyway, maybe someone who knows will see it: is that Starter Loan still $25k at ~3%? That's what it was as far as I can tell, but the most recent post I could find regarding the actual figures is a bit old, and USAA doesn't post the info on its site except for people who are already members. Just wondering if anyone tried to do this somewhat recently (within the past three years, say) and wouldn't mind posting the numbers.

Yea it is up to 25 grand a 2 percent. My orders to report to OCS didn't have a grad date so I needed a letter from my recruiter. Other than that it's really easy and you will get everything approved and in your account within a week. You can apply a month before you leave and a year after you commission. Hope that helps.

Happen to know if we still qualify if we're already enlisted and transitioning over to the officer side and already have a USAA bank account?
