Hey everyone, just curious to know about how far out any recent civilian candidates received their orders.

Thanks, sounds like its not too far ahead. Im hoping to break my apartment lease about a month ahead but will need my orders to do it.

Alive and kicking...sort of.
I'm awaiting orders too, was told today it will be one of the January classes but should be this week or next to get them.
As far as breaking your lease, don't act too soon...in my case, I was originally scheduled for 17 July and then bumped up to 26 June, so we cancelled our lease on June 1 and my wife and baby were moving in with family while I was going to be in Newport. Well, six months later we're still here with family; we aren't paying rent but also don't want to overstay our welcome either. My $.02, as soon as you have orders in hand let your apartment office know that you want to move out the week before, and remind them that you gave them as much notice as possible (some threaten fines more than others, ours let us go in two weeks no problem or questions asked). I had orders for both classes, but they were changed or withdrawn within a month of the class so don't totally count on orders as being set in stone as the military can and will change them without much notice.
Hopefully I'll see you all in four weeks! Last month of training, so gotta make it count...

This was just posted up, contrary to the previous gouge that we show up on 02 JAN:
"All Officer Candidate School (OCS) students must report to OCS No Later Than 1100 on Sunday 1 January 2012.
All Officer Development School (ODS) students must report to ODS No Later Than 1600 on Monday 2 January 2012."

NTXRockr is correct you must report at the time he listed, many of those on the west coast will be flying on Dec 31st.
If no one has told you you should consume no alcohol before arriving, this was passed on from OTC to our processor.

We have been asking some questions and there is a disconnect between NRC and OTC, we have been given a verbal that the new report date/time is NLT 1700 Jan 2 for OCS, once confirmed it should be changed on the OCS website, hopefully in the next day or two

We continue to get conflicting info from NRC and OCS, we are not moving our peoples flights and if they are early so be it, I hope OTC is understanding for those who followed NRC's guidance.

Back during the flooding in New England in August, lots of people from 03-12 were delayed because of cancelled flights, and everything worked out just fine. I wouldn't worry too much about it. If your orders say 2 Jan 12, and you show up on 2 Jan 12, you'll be ok.

We rec'd notification that OTC has in fact moved the report date back to 1 Jan 2012 at 1100, as they had fed a different date to NRC orders were cut with a report date of 2 Jan, NRC is not changing the orders, OTC said report when you arrive and take the orange cab to the base, most people from the west coast will not make it into RI until late afternoon or the evening of 1 Jan 2012 and OTC is expecting many people to arrive after the 1100 time.
