Bates Lites Update
All they issue at OCS now is the Danner RAT Hot and Temperate boots. Seems like a good indicator to me.- dd336

A little late but yes they are allowed. Why would you want them though? You'll never use them again after OCS and they have terrible support. If you just run in regular boots a couple months prior to shipping out you'll be completed adapted. Look into picking up the Danner RAT boots...- dd336

A Word on OCS (as of 2 DEC 16)
Not really necessary from my experience. Everyone in the platoon gets issued detergent (which is communal) and you can always grab more at PX calls. I just found this list for incoming 2017 classes you might want to check out...
