Not quite. You need to earn your designator qualification and then IWO qualification to earn the pin. In the reserves I think you have 3 years to get your desginator qualification and 5 years for IWO.

I completed my masters degree and made sure that my motivational statement reflected the designators that I selected. If you choose more than one, make sure that you emphasize why you are qualified for your number 1 choice, and why you chose number 2, etc.

Cool thanks. I don't think it's really going to be an issue. I think 57 1815/1825 billets are converting anyway. I think its going to be really hard for a reservist to become an EA or ION though. Thats going to take some time.

There is a quarterly quad chart that is published showing the health of the community by designator. The OCM knows how many DCOs are required per board in order to sustain and its projected.

This allowed them to select officers from other branches to come over as an LT to fill that gap. Some folks came in as LTJG with no prior service with significant experience, and the PA allows that flexibility.

Those 17 are in total. According to the quad slide, there are 22 accessions per year (12 NAVET / 10 DCO). If there are two boards per year, there are about five slots per board for DCO. Those numbers can change based on the current inventory and the NAVET accessions.

The mobilization stuff changed in FY23 so you are probably good. It was all prior-enlisted, not just them. I don't think this is still the case but you still may have to sign a Pg. 13.
