No doubt about it, all of us SNA applicants are the benifeciaries of America's airline pilot shortage.

Lots of October dates as well. Makes me more confident about us having a shorter wait.

Just my two cents though, so take it with a grain of salt.

Just a thought. Perhaps those of us with PPL's will get our FINSEL faster because they don't have to line up an IFS class after commissioning. That's the only logical thing I've thought of that could push July people ahead.

Not that it helps with leg strength directly but I've been doing laps in the pool every other day and after two weeks I can already feel the spike in my cardio and my core strength. It's a great way to ease yourself into things while still making good progress. Also for us future Naval Aviators...

That's a large amount of time. Didn't expect them to be so accommodating.

Try and enjoy the time anyway though. Life during/after OCS is going to be hectic, might as well relax while you can. Also, judging by the flow from the May boards (they seem to wait 3-4 months) I'm guessing we'll be looking at a Class date around December. That's not too much longer.

Just a thought. Since we're about to roll over into the next FY, can we expect an even longer and protracted FINSEL wait due to budgeting? Anyone familiar with the trends who can lend some enlightenment towards the process around the end of the FY?

Needs of the Navy, yes. At which point after commissioning (or at OCS) would you know about follow on? It'd be good to get a general timeframe to expect so my wife and I can plan our upcoming leasing plan for the mean time. I appreciate the feedback.

My GPA is below 3.0 and I got picked up for SNA. It's certainly not a death sentence but I'd imagine your kit must make up for it in other areas (i.e. ATSB, Aviation experience, LORs, etc.)
