    San Diego Recommendations

It took about 35 minutes when we tested it out but we've heard on bad days it can be up to 40-45. Ben departs Guam and starts up with the new squadron next month, so I'm sure he can give a more consistent number then.

    San Diego Recommendations

^Definitely not. But you can find some great deals in Eastlake, which is part of what drew us to the area. The prices are great right now, the schools are impressive and the area is nice and new. The drawback is the property taxes of course, but that was hard to avoid in SD.

    San Diego Recommendations

My husband and I are currently PCS'ing to San Diego. Our realtor was Ivana Nedeljovick and I'll PM you (and anyone else who wants it) her contact info. She was fantastic with helping us find a place while we were still overseas. Ultimately, we chose the Eastlake area which is the brand new...

    Revocation of JOPA membership?

Late to the party but definitely not going to the dark side. Am a knife though... a dark side in it's own right. And HAL pilot... you have me clutching my pearls. However, I'm sure phrog has no qualms saluting PSW, at a minimum, not with his hand.

My husband and I have been living in Guam for close to 2.5 years now. We love it! I'll go ahead and answer your questions and I'm sure when my husband, Ben, has time, he'll swing by and give you his thoughts. In the meantime, here are mine: - Did you take stuff you didn't need? Not...

    Guamanian Cell Phones?

Most of us were in that boat. It's not bad, really. And as for reception... top complaint by the few that have cell phones is extremely poor reception. Gatordev really hit it on the mark... life in the tropics is different. And it's awesome. :)

    Guamanian Cell Phones?

We actually haven't gotten cell phones out here. They're just not really necessary. But if you feel you can't live without one, there seem to be a couple of companies to go through... GuamCell or iconnect I haven't seen any iphones out here, but then again, I haven't really seen many cell...

    Covan Moving Inc.

Oh yes, we had a horrible move with Covan as well. They took 2 days to pack us out and when we arrived in San Diego, they showed up at 4pm on a friday wanting to unload in an hour and refused to unpack. (Yes, we argued that one, refused to sign and had to let the PPO office know, so hopefully...

    Guam/Japan with pets?

Hey Purdue! My husband has orders to Guam and we're moving next month. We have 3 dogs and they're coming with us. There is a fair amount of work to be done getting your pet ready. Basically, your dog has to have all vaccinations, a microchip and FAV-N bloodwork drawn. The FAVN is the...

    Moving to Pensacola...

So far, I've learned that this is the key to being happy as a military spouse. Sure, things can be hard at times... finding a job or a degree program that allows you to move around the country or world is challenging... moving 5 times in a 2 year span is a bit stressful... you get the idea...

    Getting married during flight school

My husband and I did the JOP thing before OCS. Then we had our formal wedding the next summer on the 4th of July holiday in between API and Primary. (That was a coincidence! Flight school for my husband was too unpredictable of a timeframe to plan a wedding on anytime other than a holiday...

    Mattress Blues

My husband and I have a Tempurpedic too. Wouldn't sleep on anything else. It was pricey, but worth it. My husband gets super hot at night, but he's handled the tempurpedic just fine. You should do the 120 day trial thing. It certainly can't hurt and if it proves to be too hot for you...
