    CEC Selection

I'd say you have a pretty decent chance. As mentioned your undergrad GPA is a bit low; hopefully your AO asked about that and your explanation was reasonable. The only other thing that comes to mind is leadership experience, but I understand as a junior engineer that is tough to come by.

Thank you Chop07. I now have a plane ticket; I am arriving in Newport on Friday, May 27. If everything is on time I predict I will get to the base around 1630. If anyone will be around and wants to get some food let me know. By the way, I recently found out that there are 3 separate hotels...

I was told due to budget issues they can't fund my orders at all until late April. I have been through this delay before with orders, but in that case it was near the end of the fiscal year. I don't understand the delay in this case.

If nobody has any objections how about we plan for a meet and greet Saturday, May 28 around 1630-1700? We can meet up in the lobby of the Navy Lodge unless someone has an alternate idea. From there we can go out in town and get a bite to eat.

I booked a room at the Navy Lodge also. I will have the Navy fly me up there; I have heard/read that having a car is basically useless. I am hoping to arrive in the afternoon on May 27. I cannot make travel arrangements until I have hard copy orders. Unfortunately I just found out that due...

Welcome in petrovics and tyw. I applied to join the facebook group (I think). I am not much of a facebook guy and not very savvy at it, but I think I did it correctly. Thanks for making the group NavyFlier.

Thanks for the survivor's guide Chop07, much appreciated. That helped answer some of the questions my wife had about graduation and how she can communicate with me. Welcome to the thread NavyFlier325. Look forward to meeting you. As May gets closer all of us in the class can attempt to meet...

I am also planning to bring some uniform items, but I am trying to avoid driving up there if possible. I plan to bring my NWU items (man I hate those boots) and my PT gear. I think that is all that we can re-use as officers; correct me if I am wrong though. I do have a couple questions that...

    29 May 2016

Hello ABE1. Good to know I won't be the only active duty in the class! I think it's a great idea to get together the day before. I am planning to fly up to Newport, and I don't have detailed orders yet so I don't know my report date. I will post up when I find out.

Hello all, I did not see a thread for the 29 May 2016 OCS class yet so figured I would start one. Found out this week I will be in that class. If anyone else is feel free to reply. Pete

    USN January 2016 CEC Board

Jeff, Thanks for the compliment. I don't know if being prior enlisted will make any difference at OCS; I have heard that sometimes it does and sometimes nobody cares. I don't really know any stats about who/how many apply to CEC each quarter. I assume most are undergrads like you...

    USN January 2016 CEC Board

I also found out that I got a yes for pro-rec. I am glad and excited. I was worried that my package wasn't as strong as I would have liked and with my age I don't have too many chances to apply. Congrats to you both Terry and toothpaste. Pete

I got my BS before joining the Navy. I worked as a civilian engineer for a few years before enlisting.

I just barely got my application in to NRD in time for the January board. I am also now waiting for the results. I don't really know much about quotas at all.

1,001 questions about the ASTB (post your scores & ask your questions here!)

Bravo, I only took the the OAR portion of the test. I did forget to mention in my previous post that I got a question on binary numbers on my ASTB. I think it was something like what is the number 6 in binary code. That totally threw me since I have not looked at binary code since 2004.

1,001 questions about the ASTB (post your scores & ask your questions here!)

Hello everyone. I just took my OAR test today. I scored a 60, which is not too bad. I was hoping to score a few points higher, but I think I will at least in the running with a 60. My thoughts on the sections are: Math: The time limit for this portion was 40 minutes, but what shocked me was...
