If your marriage is absolutely imminent then I would suggest do it now. I presume you aren't prior service, so this would be the difference between receiving family separation allowance and basic allowance for housing during OCS. Depending on where you are, the latter may be a substantial chunk...

I've seen various comments on settling your uniform bill. At what point do you actually pay for your uniforms? Is it offset by an allowance, and you pay the remaining balance?

I see that the ocs.navy.mil website lists running shoes on the packing list but also noticed that in many of the photographs, including those included in the gouge booklet from the recruiter, everyone is wearing the same shoes. Are those generic looking new balances seen in photos issued at OCS...

I'm prior, but being prior doesn't allow you access to BOL either. I don't think there's an alternative to just waiting.

I am applying for Supply. I am going to retake after this board. I am not AD, I separated in Dec of 2012.

I used the search function, and didn't turn up anything relevant. Does anyone know off the top of their head whether their officer academic degree plan included all courses they had completed towards graduation, or just what is still outstanding/underway?

interesting question, since the navy would typically pay dual active sailors without dependents both at the single rate.. but your spouse wouldn't be a dependent for these purposes, so maybe no BAH?... but again, interesting...

I see, the way I was reading certain posts seemed to imply that they were only getting printed after selection rather than having already done so and just redoing it because the prints aged out.

Is there any rhyme or reason as to why some folks do fingerprints after selection and others at the time they goto meps? programmatic, or just as a result of the way certain MEPS are set up?

+1. Beyond this, there are deployments with kids on the way. At least this is only a training cycle. This is an integral part of military life, balancing home/family life with demanding operational/training commitments.

If enlisted swim test has any bearing when instructors want a survival stroke/deadman float they give you instructions immediately preceding the test. If you are seeking a higher qualification proficiency with more than one stroke and the survival stroke are required.
