Have any of you been waiting especially long? I got a Pro-Y for SWO at the December board, am tentatively slated for the 21-Aug class, but my final select letter still hasn't come in. My OR says she doesn't know why, but is hoping that it will come this month. I'm getting kinda worried about why...

Same here. My OR says in the computer I have a date of August 21, but they told her not to expect any actual paperwork or a swear-in until May. Maybe we'll be in the same class!

My OR said it just has to do with the number of accepted candidates. I guess there are still quite a number of backlogged Pro-Y's from the August board that need class dates.

You'll be getting paid as an E-5 while you're there, and your only expenses will be what you have to pay for at home. You should definitely make enough to cover the uniform bill while at OCS.

Yeah, my security clearance was done back in March. It was super intense! I think because I was applying for IDC areas at the time although I later decided that SWO was my top choice. Whoops

Who knows, though. If you're following the Final Select Purgatory thread there are a ton of really fast turnovers right now, as in Jan/Feb class dates from the Dec boards. Although it appears to be mostly NFO/SNAs.

I understand your pain. My previous OR let me know a week after the August SWO board that my kit hadn't even gone to board, after telling me multiple times that it was just waiting for the board to convene. It's very frustrating but you'll make the next board!

I'm using the search bar but able to find an answer... what is the commitment for different designators? Specifically SWO, but interested in knowing others. I thought they were all 6 years but I may have just made that up.
