They've got the system down to a science up there. Bring everything you think you'll need to check-in, and they'll tell you what you can't have. You'll get all of that back at the end. Everything else will find a way to your room, so don't worry too much about it.

I just received my finsel for March 12th today. It's a bit to swallow--I've got to PCS from Japan and get all of my affairs in order to report in under 3 weeks. To say I'm a bit overwhelmed at the moment is an understatement.

I was under the impression that you are then on the path for your highest-preference designator. For example, if you said Pilot/NFO and both say yes, you're going to commission as an SNA. If you're NFO/Pilot, you'll get SNFO.
