    OCS 231

[QUOTE="Criminal, post: 951466, member Thanks for the info. Are the only plc combined boards in October/November? I have some classes I need to take to get my gpa in line for the program, as well as fitness goals to reach. Are the plc selection boards for 6weekers and 10weekers différent boards...

Congratulations on getting in. When was the deadline for you to meet the selection board if you don’t mind me asking? Is selection for plc-combined just as competitive as occ?

Pilotwannabe. Rookie move there. If these guys are chewing someone out (and this hardly quals as a chewing) my god you better watch from a distance, and feel bad for them in silence. The way it goes is you join the website, ask your first and dumbest question (that's been answered already), get...

PLC application process step by step

Just to let you know I'm a "wanna be" like you right now. I've never served and I haven't even started the application process for plc yet. But From looking around this site, I feel informed enough to answer some of your Q's. Just keep in mind all the information I have is mostly from the...

PLC application process step by step

JWL I think it's recommended. OCS is physically demanding (from what I hear). Less likely to injure your self at jr's/sr's as opposed to combined. Also I think you start racking up time in service upon completion of juniors.

    Push-ups at OCS

Can you do them on your knuckles instead? I broke my wrist a little over a year ago, and it never healed right. Now it can't fully bend back anymore. Pull-ups are no problem, and doing push-ups on my knuckles is no problem either. I would've gone to the hospital but I don't have health...

    Progress with the Armstrong Program

Took last week off. And today I did 12 pull ups. I've decided to scrap the pull-up program. I'm gonna start going to my friends gym and work out my shoulders. I'll still be doing pull-ups everyday though of course. I just think lat pull downs and shoulder press will help.

Wow. 30 minutes ago I was sitting in my living room thinking "I wonder why the thought of being an Osprey pilot has never come through my mind? Best Way to Improve Push-up Score

I'm a civilian, but I've been busting ass to get a 300 on the Marine pft. For me push ups aren't too tough. I'm currently struggling with pull-ups, but I'm following the Armstrong program which requires 3 max effort push up sets 5 mornings a week. The first week I was doing 30 pushups...

    Progress with the Armstrong Program

Week 6: 7 pull-ups I've decided to do nothing but 5 max sets a day this week, then a max effort every Monday after that followed by an entire week of the next day. So next week will be 4 days of pyramids, the next week 4 days of training sets, the next week as many training sets as possible.

    Progress with the Armstrong Program

Week 5: 9 pull-ups I'm getting really pissed off with the swinging. I had to stop after some repetitions and wait to stop swinging before continuing with the next rep. I'm worried that I'm simply not doing enough pull-ups weekly. I'm considering switching it up and trying a different program...

    Progress with the Armstrong Program

Thanks man, from what I've read. The Armstrong program is great, but a lot of guys do end up hitting that plateau. I've actually been anticipating it. So once I get there I'll give your program a go. Maybe alternating programs weekly would be a good idea.

I know there are a lot of threads on pull-ups (especially regarding this program) but I figured I'd make one to inspire candidates, and aspiring candidates, and anyone just trying to be a pull-up stud. Question for current Plc candidates

I know that you can be accepted into Plc even if you go to a community college. But how often does this happen? How many (if any) of your fellow candidates are enrolled at a community college? Also, once you're accepted and begin the selection phase does the selection board let that negatively...

    PLC Juniors acceptance percentage

I've patrolled this website long enough to realize that any question with a "%" sign in it. Gets you ripped a new asshole. Although I would love an answer to this question myself. I have read somewhere on here before, that being accepted to jrs as a freshman is less competitive than combined...

Boxing as a extracurricular activity to look good on selection board

How competitive am I for NROTC (Marine pilot)

Hopefully nobody minds if I jump in here with a slightly similar question. But I've heard that if you aren't awarded a scholarship and you enter the program as a college programmer, you have a better shot at picking up a 3/2 year scholarship the next year. As opposed to if you just stayed out...

Let me start by saying I'm a 21 year old Naval Aviator wanna be, myself. So I'm not as "in the know" compared to most the guys on here.
