    Places of Intermediate Training

E2/C2 still has an intermediate, but it is the only one.

    E-2/C-2 Life?

You have to have above the jet cutoff, 50 or 52 whichever it is. E2/C2 seems fairly undermanned so if you have the scores and ask for it, you probably have a good chance. Its a long training pipeline, but in the end I am sure it is worth it.

    E-2C Pipeline question

I am married with children also. I was expecting per diem, but Trawing 4 and PSD both told me that I could not receive it. If they tell you something different I would sure like to know.
  4. K

    E-2C Pipeline question

That is not true, unfortunately. You are PCS'd to Kingsville, but if you execute that move then you are no longer authorized Per Diem. I was originally told that I could move to Kingsville and then get a BOQ room in Corpus, but once I got here the same guy I talked to said that he had made a...

    E-2 Bubbas Chime In

Blacky, I would love some clarification on that too. Are E-2/C-2 dudes really needed now? If so, then why are people getting kicked out? How is advanced for an E-2/C-2 guy? How long does it normally take someone to get through Intermediate, and how long for advanced? Sorry for all the questions...

    Tips for an enlisted person.

First off, it is very easy to go to college while enlisted. It is just a matter of dedication on your part. Also, regardless of whether you think you are staying in or not, always act as if you are. For one you may change your mind at the last moment, and people who say they are staying in get...

    E-2 Bubbas Chime In

I just had a question for Bunk or anyone else who could answer it. I just recently selected E-2/C-2 out of Primary and I was wondering how pilots were treated at the RAG. I realize that I am still a ways off from there, but just curious. It seems strange that the pilots are already winged but...

    Tips for an enlisted person.

Listen, If you qualified for AECF, then you qualify for just about anything. Don't let them tell you that you only have a few options. When I joined, the only options that they gave me were nuke and AECF. I enjoyed being an ET, but there were other rates that I would have rather been. I would...

    Tips for an enlisted person.

I was an ET and loved it. However, the ET promotion sucks right now. So I would pick FC if I was in your shoes. Also, it seemed like the CIWS and MK 86 guys did the best on rating exams. Then again I never worked with any SPY techs. Ships life is great as an ET or an FC. There are few, if any...

    E-2/C-2 Syllabus Question

    Selecting P-3's

I realize that this topic has been beat to death. But with the reduction of aircraft and this new reserve program, I just wanted some last minute advice before selection. Are P-3's really safe to select right now? By safe I mean that the chances are very low of getting released from active duty...

    New Navy Uniforms Announced

I was enlisted during the last uniform change. Enlisted people have always had bad working uniforms. Not only ugly, but fairly useless as well. I cannot see one reason why these new concepts are more impractical than utilities. Coverall are nice, but they are not really a uniform (putting...

Could someone tell me the chances of getting EP-3's out of advanced. I hear a lot of people try to avoid VQ, but I just really want to get to Whidbey.

    Shore duty

I was wondering about shore duty opportunities in the VP/VQ communities. Aside from the typical flying tours (FRS, advanced, primary IP), what are some of the other options. Also, what kind of shore duty could keep you in the same location as your first fleet tour. I am about to select out of...

joining the Marine Corps flight program

I am not in the Marine Corps, but this is my understanding of it. In the Navy and Air Force, aviation slots are about as "respected" as you can get. However, in the Marines, the combat arms/ground side is more sought after. In fact, whenever you talk with ground types, they often talk negatively...

Changing degree to somthing other than listed?

CNET and the NROTC unit won't care what you major in. All you have to do is tell them once you are there. In fact, they are often happy if you switch to something easier. I originally asked for Computer Science, but after talking to some of the OC's I switched to Political Science. If I hadn't...

    left handed

This Mustang thing has always bothered me. Here is the definition according to the National Mustang Association: "What is the definition of a "Mustang?" The NMA has committed a lot time into researching the definition of a "Mustang" Officer and the best combined definition from several sources...

    left handed

Personally, I think that being left handed makes things better. When I started primary, the sims guys were telling me that I needed to put my kneeboard on my right knee and learn to write right handed. I have no idea what they were smoking, but I have found the left handed thing to be nothing...

    Ea-6b?

I am in Primary and nearing my selection date. I was wondering what the odds are of getting Prowlers. I would think that most guys would want 18's. Also, with Prowlers transitioning to "growlers", are they likely to remain out of Whidbey? Any info would be appreciated.

    New Navy Uniforms Announced

Everyone keeps saying that khaki is going away. It says that it is replacing working khaki, not service khaki. Also, aboard ship E-7 and above is distinguished in coveralls by gold lettering and a khaki belt. I really don't see much of a difference here. I spent 7 years enlisted and went...

    Microsim

I am in RI's and use the Microsim all the time and think it is great. I believe that all the people who say it is a waste of time either haven't really tried it, or haven't put enough effort into learning how to use it. Of course it does not fly too much like the plane, but it is great for...

    Vance

If you can even imagine your self attriting, then that is a bad sign. I never had any intentions of attriting, and I still got to the point where I hated primary and didn't know if it was for me. You just have to stick it out. Everyone told me that there would be times that you wouldn't want to...

    Advanced Helo questions

I am about to start RI's in Primary and am planning on selecting helos. I know most of the options for selecting out of the HT's. But could someone give me the complete list that you choose from for your dream sheet. Also, what is the general trend of places people are going, like what...

ok, I got a tough one here

I would have to say that it isn't really your business. I was a PRT coordinator when I was enlisted and ran the ship's swim program. College Academic Preparation

I would say to pick a major that you enjoy and think that you can do well in. Flight school is about memorization, study habits and stress management. We had many guys in my school pick difficult majors and then it turned out that their GPA's were too low to be selected SNA. Myself (Poli Sci)...

    API and Family?

It really isn't so hard. I have a wife and three kids and still got a 99 average. As long as you are able to put studying first and sacrifice some family time then it is just fine. I remember people telling me that I was crazy if I brought my family to flight school. But it hasn't been too hard...

    De la hoya/Mosley...who won??

I realize that judging is all subjective, but this is my $.02. I love boxing and watch every fight that I can see. I personally had the fight a draw with 6 rounds each. While DLH definitely landed more punches and clearly outboxed Mosley over the early part of the fight, he let Mosley take over...

    SNFO Introductory Flight Screening (IFS)

You have to be commissioned or a senior midshipman to participate in IFS. Plus, IFS for SNFO's is still new and fews SNFO's are actually doing it. There is NO way that they would fund IFS before OCS.

Update your title on your posts

Gatordev, IFS is a new program for SNA's that gives us 25 flight hours before we go to API. For most people it is after commissioning, but before you start the real pipeline.

    STA-21 Question...

As long as your package is in before July 1 then you are fine. It does not help you one bit to have it in earlier, just make sure that you don't slack on getting it prepared. Furthermore, there is normally a period after the deadline in which you can send in additional info, such as awards or...

Question about Getting Married in the Navy

You are your own man. It's nice for other people to give advice, but take it with a grain of salt. Once you are out of OCS, no one can tell you what to do with your personal life. If you want to get married, then by all means do it. I got married while in the Navy (enlisted) and now my wife and...
