You should find out for the most part by the end of the physical. You'll sit down with a flight surgeon and he/she will give you a physical and look over your medical records and let you know. You have to wait a couple weeks though for the labs (blood, urine, etc.)

I haven't been to API yet, but I have been on the swim team as well as done swim quals with the navy and the key is Survival swimming. It's not a race, so don't make it one. So there may be people ahead of you, yahoo for them, it doesn't matter to you or your qual. Just relax and take your time...

AFROTC and NROTC service selection are not one and the same. Just because someone wouldn't necessarily get a pilot slot in the AF doesn't mean he wouldn't get a slot in the Navy. I say go for it. Stats say it is easier to get a pilot slot through ROTC than OCS, but thats just what I've been told.

What all does that aviation physiology course entail. I gotta do it this may, so I'm a little curious.

It's competitive, but it's not impossible. Give it a shot, what's the worst that can happen? They say no, and if you are sure you want to be an officer you just go to OCS. Definitely give it a shot though.
