    NAMI

Little background, I got picked up 1395, and am waiting API, but my eyes are on the border, 20/40. My question is, is the Navy still seperating those who don't pass through NAMI or could I redesignate if I have a bad eye day and don't pass. I really love the nav and would be completely happy as...

    Uniforms

Whats the advantage of Abbotts over getting your uniforms from the NEX? Basically why should I kick out somewhere in the range of $1K for a whole set of uni's when I only really need/want a couple pairs of the new poly-cottons and a set or two of summer whites. Also, if you have a tailoring...

    Advice for the Lawless...

I can't tell you what to do in regards to submitting your package with the DUI. But from a strictly legal aspect, do not plead "guilty", if all else fails plead "no contest". It is in your best interest in the long run not to plead guilty. Any guilty conviction, if you are or aren't, is bad. By...

Selected for NFO, wanted SNA...what to do

Last I heard it was NFO - 6 years postwinging, NA(Helos/Props) - 7 years postwinging, and NA (Jets) - 8 years postwinging. Could be bad gouge though.

    Cruise orders

Just wondering if any of yall have gotten your orders for Phase 3 yet. I haven't and it's getting kind of late, so I was curious. Thanks.

    NFO Platform Selection/Assignment

Question, are most of the F-18F billets going to transitioning F-14 RIO's or are a decent amount of SNFO's getting them. Just curious, I mean that's a lot of NFO's who need a new job in the near future.

    Flight Physical

You should find out for the most part by the end of the physical. You'll sit down with a flight surgeon and he/she will give you a physical and look over your medical records and let you know. You have to wait a couple weeks though for the labs (blood, urine, etc.)

    API Swim Quals

I haven't been to API yet, but I have been on the swim team as well as done swim quals with the navy and the key is Survival swimming. It's not a race, so don't make it one. So there may be people ahead of you, yahoo for them, it doesn't matter to you or your qual. Just relax and take your time...

    NROTC 2 yr Program

AFROTC and NROTC service selection are not one and the same. Just because someone wouldn't necessarily get a pilot slot in the AF doesn't mean he wouldn't get a slot in the Navy. I say go for it. Stats say it is easier to get a pilot slot through ROTC than OCS, but thats just what I've been told.

    Cruise Question

What all does that aviation physiology course entail. I gotta do it this may, so I'm a little curious.

    NROTC 2 yr Program

It's competitive, but it's not impossible. Give it a shot, what's the worst that can happen? They say no, and if you are sure you want to be an officer you just go to OCS. Definitely give it a shot though.

    Cruise Question

I'm going on my 1/C cruise this summer, hopefully Aviation Ashore, and I was wondering what all I can do in addition to my duties in the squadron. Can I get my rifle and pistol quals, if so what do I have to do to set that up, etc. Kind of take advantage and do as much as possible while I'm...

    Superhornets in the future?

ea6bflyr- Quick question, seeing as SNA is getting tighter and tighter I'm doing a little research on SNFO and I was wondering. 1) Are the Prowlers staying in service or are they being phased out in favor of the F-18 Growler (or is that just bad gouge)? 2) How hard is it to redesig inside the...

    NROTC 2 yr Program

There is a 2yr option for NROTC, and you don't have to be Scholarship you can be College Program (Non-scholarship). Don't get disenrolled from NROTC!

Ok, another question then. How do they look at it all? Do they only look at a certain GPA and above and then look at the rest of the scores, or do they compile all of the data and set a cutting score or what? Thanks.
  25. P

    Don't get disenrolled from NROTC!

    Don't get disenrolled from NROTC!

I was just wondering if yall have heard anything about service selections. From what I've heard this last one aviation slots were pretty hard to come by. And I know every time is different but I was wondering if yall have heard anything about the up and coming ones. Reason is I've got to select...

Navy Srvce Selection Rejection - Soon to be ensign

    SNFO to SNA transfer possible?

Yankee, just curious what all did you have to send in when you service selected. Is it just a dream sheet or do you have to attach your transcripts or just a gpa or what? Thanks.

    S-3B Viking

If you could would you mind enlightening me on why it is that NFO's like the P-3? It just doesn't seem all that interesting to sit in either of the 2 NFO seats without windows and stair at a screen. But having never done it, I don't know. Besides per diem and no time on the boat, why do they...

What is the flight physical like?

Don't sweat the physical, reason is there isn't really a whole lot you can do about it. Either you are qualified or you're not, so there is no real point in worrying yourself about it all. In regards to the eye exams, they are pretty much your run of the mill, standard eye exams that you would...

What is the flight physical like?

Well when I took one in Jax it consisted of: A bunch of blood work, urine sample, anthros, ekg, chest xray, dental, hearing, eyes with a HM (distance, near, color blind, astigmatism, depth perception), eyes again with an optometrist, and a physical with a flight surgeon. Hope that helps but then...

    NSI

Naval Science Institute in Newport. Basically it teaches the ECP and 2 year NROTC folks what they missed in the first two years of NROTC. But that's about all I know about it.

    NSI

Goin in a couple of weeks too. Nope, not prior enlisted, I'm a 2 year ROTC kid so I will be the youngin with no military experience and absolutely no idea what is going on. That's why I'm trying to do a little research to prepare myself as best as possible.

    Stash time

A question on stash time, who decides where you go and for how long? Do you have a chance to request where you go? The reason I ask is that I'm trying for NROTC which means I will graduate with the rest of the NROTC kids, the academy kids, and all of the OCS kids graduating in the beginning of...

    NROTC Wait Time

I applied for the 2 year NROTC program. The deadline was 10 March, the board met on approx. 1 April, and I was wondering how long (generally) it took to find out whether or not you got in. You just never know until you have that letter in your hand. Thanks.

    American Fighter Pilot Show

I also noticed that 50 go, 8 graduate statistic, but later on in the program one of the IPs stated that the attrition rate was somewhere in the region of 8-9%. Sounds like some funny math coming out of the Chair Force.

    NROTC or OCS, Opinions needed

Oh yeah, unless you're going for SEALs because from what I've heard it's rediculously hard to get into BUDS as an officer. There just aren't that many slots for that community. Again, just scuttlebutt.
  48. P

    NROTC or OCS, Opinions needed

From what I hear from all of the officers in my school's ROTC unit, as long as you have over around a 2.8-3.0 gpa and decent PRT scores you are pretty much going to get what you want. Of course that is just the scuttlebutt and nothing is guaranteed, so just bust ass and do as well as you can and...

    Application Contents

You sure that you have to have the exact zip codes? Cause when I got a hard copy of the EPSQ on paper it didnt have a space for zip code on some of the addresses for someone who can verify you lived somewhere etc. and when I entered it into the computer and verified it, it didnt give me a problem.

    Application Contents

Ok, I'm filling out the security questionnaire as well, and I had a couple of questions. First how important is having the exact dates, I mean down to the day? I can give most of them to the month, but getting the exact date that I started work somewhere like 7-8 years ago is a little...
