Extended stays at the hold short for NAS Whidbey Growlers?

I don't think rolling tires have a problem with short-field gear. I think the problem is when a tire non-rotating (or for that matter one that is still catching up to the aircraft's ground speed at touchdown) touches the gear, tripping it just enough to knock it out of battery. Sitting at the...

The picture is everything, definitely don't forget it. The test is trying to determine if you can look at something and be able to figure out how it works mechanically...at least in the mechanical part of the test. The rest is as Renegade One explained.

USN may add conformal fuel tanks to F/A-18E/F fleet

From an article that I can't seem to find right now...what the E/F/G conformal tanks increase in weight/drag is offset by the increase in lift from their positioning over the lex. Also the IRST that has been developed for the export model would be nice in addition to the extra muscle and fixing...

This whole "On Speed" thing....how does it work?

In a -45 you are not actually trimming to AOA like you are in an -18. in a 45, the trim sets where neutral stick position is which means where the stab is. When you roll out in the grove, a different stab position is required than what was holding you on speed downwind.

Sounds like you've figured out the game. Success in primary =/= success in advanced. If your success in primary...

Well said. There are MAJOR differences in student skill level and it's not that hard to pick out the 40s and the 60s. Flying at faster airspeeds might make it more noticeable too but who knows. I'm with you on the EPs and Gen Knowledge being important but, if all your "good grades" came from...

    Airspeed Restriction Below "B"

So the a/s restriction below the lateral limits of class B airspace is 200. Does that speed limit still apply if you take off IFR from an airport below the lateral limits of B airspace or can you fly 250 until you get above 10K?

Another technique people use is knowing how many items are on the checklist and if say you didn't touch/check, 10 items on a 10 item checklist, you know it's time to refer back to checklist. Just throwing it out there, with fuel being so tight in our community, the time wasted on deck is fuel...

Highly recommend these books, in fact, I have them sitting on my book shelf. These were the first to books that came to mind. Funny story, I re-read them as I went through flight school and come to find out I have actually met some of the characters in the book. One was even my skipper at VT-6.

You really have a LONG way to go as far as research.
