    Pensacola for IFS/API

I lived in Countrywood and really enjoyed it. Great staff, nice pool and a small gym. Only downside was the long drive out to Pensacola Beach, but Perdido is right there and the beach on base is nice as well.

    REQUEST: Good aviation/military books

Angles of Attack by Peter Hunt is a great account of the air war in Gulf War 1 from the point of view of an A-6 Intruder crew. Also, The Ravens by Christopher Robbins was an incredible book about the CIA run air war in Laos...very interesting read.

xj, were you guys carrying more than one Maverick? I can't imagine a good reason why the TACCO would put it on the right wing unless you guys were shooting more than one or there weren't any racks on the left side.

Just had my shore tour orders pop today. Looks like I'm headed back to Naval Aviation Schools Command as an instructor. Orders say for duty in a flying status involving flying. Anyone been there/currently there know if it's possible that I will be flying with VT-10 while I'm with NASC?

    Pensacola Apartments

I lived at Countrywood for just over a year and would highly recommend it. The drive to base is unbeatable, management folks are great to deal with, apartments are nice, and Perdido Key isn't far off. I'd live there again in a heartbeat.

    Friend in Need

Probably the best thing you can do is just listen and be supportive of him. The part of training you guys are in is pretty dynamic and challenging and will test the nerves of everyone in your class at some point. Just make sure that he doesn't make any hasty decisions about DORing because he's...
