Sounds like it. Hate to say it but CAG Admin must have been in on this and Flag Admin didn’t protect their boss.

    Navy Dedicated SAR Squadrons

Got it, but this seems to be a quarterly thing for Chuck. Talk to some AF types telling fishing stories with their 10k hour APU turn patches and then say Navy sucks. Does HSC have issues? Yes. Merge a couple of communities on top of change of focus from the desert to at sea and of course...

    NEWS Key Bridge - Baltimore

Not just container ships, but also the size of the petroleum carriers has increased. They have been dredging quite a bit in the Chesapeake channels to support. One thing not mentioned is that these ultra-larges own exclusive rights to the channel making scheduling interesting. You have to be on...

    Naval Aviations "One" Problem...

I’m not sure putting SWOs in will work. Cats and A/G are not under the JFMM, they follow the NAMP. TBH, I would not want someone who grew up under the JFMM running Cats and A/G. Second, PERS 41 struggles to fill the conventional 1110 billets on a CVN. They wouldn’t fill the additional billets...

Stupid Questions about Naval Aviation (Part 3)

Apples and oranges. Weapons delivery and a hostile HLZ are different beasts. OBTW, when that F-35 pilot has to land, it’s on a runway or with the aid of gucci systems and an LSO.

NEWS Is the pivot to China a bunch of bullshit?

This is why others get annoyed. Not sure how this isn’t a personal attack. And the gold standard was in effect for the global economy at the time and the family analogy was meant to compare GDP to debt, as someone else politely replied.

NEWS Is the pivot to China a bunch of bullshit?

My point exactly. The Mark was not a reserve currency, the gold standard was in effect, colonialism was still around, globalization wasn’t near what it is today, and we are not saddled with a reparations bill while rebuilding a country. Apples to oranges. I do believe debt has to be managed...

    Europe under extreme duress

Wouldn’t call it fearmongering. Putin has not shown any behavior to prove his statement. The only reason he hasn’t rolled into places like Estonia is Ukraine is giving him a run for his money. Hitler made similar remarks, so I don’t believe a word Putin says.

NEWS Is the pivot to China a bunch of bullshit?

Been much longer….I was taught SCS was going to be a flash point 30 years ago. Look at the rest of the issues - EP3 in 2001, periscope picture ~2007, lots of FONOPS in late 2000s. No one cared because of the other wars, but we were already locked into a Cold War.

    MH-60 crash in San Diego

Yes. Altitude changed from 50’ in mid-90s to 60’ early 2000 to 70’. ASW mission set drove this. We kept 70 for SAR for ease and because you rarely get salt spray at that altitude.

Alaska Airlines 737 MAX 9 Decompression

I’d say there’s some validity in appeasing the public. Boeing may also have details about who did the installation on the factory line that can bound the problem to just the Max. There’s been a huge turnover in manufacturing jobs, so many industries do not have the experience they used to have.
