Wednesday is awesome people! My JO LFF was a Fuji day TERF with her. I didn't know about the letter. Thanks for sharing.

I'm not understanding this. I'm not exactly a scholar, but I don't remember Aristotle saying anything about immaculate conception of a demi-god or how faith >> reason. Quite the opposite really.

Fair enough. I've no ground to argue. HC-6 beat HS-14 to the punch by 17 years, and I was told HS-14 was named after the football team, which is pretty lame if true.

I wouldn't worry about the ACSB (command) opportunity so early. That will happen for you roughly 14-15 years after commissioning and much can change. If you want to be an officer and fly, chase down that dream. Worry about which community to pick once you're in the pipeline in Pensacola. There...

This always bothers me here at Pax River, where they use "Lightning" on the radio, even though that callsign is quite officially owned by the mighty Chargers of HS(C)-14.

Even my '18 Golf forces me to use distance keeping + front assist if I want cruise control. I only have the option to turn off lane assist, which I do because it's annoying AF. They call it adaptive cruise control (ACC). I miss naïve cruise control, where the car maintains speed, and I change...

Since I'm the OP, I feel safe continuing the threadjack... Here's my business practice for extreme speeders when I'm in the left lane: 1. I'm only in the left lane when passing (to include a reasonable pre-pass distance) or for obstacles, stopped cars, people pulling out, etc. 2. If, once I...

    Disassociated Sea Tour Likelihood

That number is E-1 and up, I don't know what the number is for officers, but the majority of those gaps are due to the dumpster fire that is recruiting in the post-COVID, political bipolarity, everyone's fat and on drugs era.

    Disassociated Sea Tour Likelihood

My previous detailer changed my post-DH shore PRD from 36 months to 16 months without so much as a phone call or email to me or the front office. He got handed a s**t sandwich from the last dude and was trying to fill 5 billets at one PMA in 3 months. I guess he figured since I was about to...

    Disassociated Sea Tour Likelihood

Caveat: I left my shore DH squadron 2 years ago (but I don't think it's changed much). The last business rules/policy I saw out of PERS-43 was shore tour could be shortened to as little as 27 months to ensure a 13-month dissociated tour could fit between your shore tour PRD and initial MSR. I'm...

In many states, including MD, the left lane is defined as the passing lane. Camping in it is therefore illegal (yeah, I know, so is speeding). We don't enforce it as hard as TX, but it's still the law. It's nice when ethics and the law align.

Overall, totally agree. Two minor gripes: Pedal reversal can be addressed via flight control laws (assuming FBW). I've flown the S-97 Raider sim but was too excited by hovering 20° nose up to think about trying an auto. Seahawks alone have had 3-4 autos in the last decade I think... although...

Yes, there is a requirement for a future vertical-lift platform capable of performing Maritime Strike. Interesting. I might have to look at cars with lidar. My 2018 VW has a low-power radar-based system, and the logic is extreme irritating. Shoemaker Scholarship to get masters at NPS prior to Pensacola?

580 was a unique curriculum as part of a co-op with TPS. We did only 5 quarters at NPS, and 4 of our classes were JPME, so maybe just 1 elective. The closest we got to OR was Campaign Analysis; great course, but no AI/ML and none in the SW SE class either.

Pcola Navy Lodge runs on Dunkin 15.0 g of Colombian beans roasted in Pax last week, weighed on a Hario scale, ground on 12 clicks with a Timemore C2, brewed at 195 °F with water from a Sekaer kettle, for 90 seconds in an Aeropress Go. Admitting that, as a helo bubba, I have little-to-no cred to weigh in here, but doing so anyway: It seems to me that modern warfare has caused a schism between the definition and purpose/meaning of "ace." Romeos Vs. Sierras

From the outside looking in (HS->HSM transition, DH '18-20), it seemed like old HC bubbas did their best to stiff-arm even a modicum of tactics (VERTREP is all you need), and old HS bubbas tried to shove it down their throats beyond reason (wannabe SOAR types). It was quite bipolar. Having seen...
