In the vein of the Ship of the Day thread, I’ve always been intrigued by the evolution of the Carrier Air Wing over the years- both the airframes that make them up and the changing roles and missions. I’ve always had a soft place in my heart for the airframes from the tail end of the Cold War era, and came across RANGER and her all-Grumman CVW. D5B76B75-8A52-4B83-AE0D-BC7E9641E018.jpeg

Reminds me of Haiti and Operation Unified Response. I'll see if I can find a picture of all of the helos on the Vinson. In the middle of it all there was one lonely E-2.

I just went through my pictures and realized I never got a picture of all the helos. The photos I have during the day are all of an empty deck with maybe one or two helos coming or going.
