Can you bring over-the-counter meds such as a generic seasonal-type allergy pill or acid reflux pill/tums to OCS? Or is this stuff considered contraband if not approved by a medical examiner of some sort?

So unfortunately I was NPQ'd right before candio phase (entire navy, not just aviation). What's the student pool wait time like these days?
Student Pool wait times are around three to five weeks depending on why - NPQs take around a month to clear due to routing to NSTC then PSD and travel. Senior Chief Dunlap is the command LEAD RDC (a new position that was created by the current CO to run all schoolhouses) and Student Pool falls under him. Since taking over, the wait times in Student Pool have been cut in half and he is constantly checking on the status of everyone to ensure they don't get forgotten about. He takes really good care of Student Pool and looks after them like they are HIS Sailors, however he is still the scariest RDC in the command!

Ween yourself off nicotine a few weeks prior to OCS. Unless your hell-bent on smuggling it in (wouldn't recommend), you'll be without your favorite dip for at least a month.

Do people ever fail the IST at OCS twice and get disenrolled? I'm definitely not planning on it myself, and there's obviously no excuse to showing up out of shape, but I was wondering if it does happen, or if they just keep indoctrination candidates in H-class until they do pass?

If you fail enough times you will be kicked out eventually.

When I was there you would get kicked out if you failed it three times, but YMMV. I would obviously plan on passing the first time.

Have been trying to read through the thread but couldn't find more info about the newer fancy private bathrooms in the dorms. Are the sink and toilet in a separate room with a door?

I’m going to turn 25 about 2 months into ocs. Will I still be subject to the 19-24 year old prt standards for my out pfa, or will I be subject to the 25-29 year old ones?

You'll update your age for every PFT, so you should get the 25-29 bracket! The mid-PFA is the one that would be really awesome for haha.

Search function has not given me the specific answers I'm looking for so I'll just ask them here.

I know you can get knee sleeves approved by OCS doctors, but can you bring your own or do they have to be given to you? And how long does it take to get a sleeve/ibuprofen approved by the doctors?

I think I may have overtrained, for the past two weeks my left knee has hurt pretty bad after running despite giving them several days rest in between and OCS is coming very soon, so I'm starting to get worried. What happens if I develop a more significant knee injury after roll able events? Do I just get NPQ'd and kicked out?
