Nice shout out to a DL Captain... @HAL Pilot and @mad dog - do you guys typically keep it personal like this?

Affirm, candidate.

Although I'm a First Officer, I've been in a few situations where we were boarded up and we didn't have a Captain (due to a last minute reroute) and I felt the need to address the passengers from the forward flight attendant station via the 1MC to keep them updated. Many passengers have conveyed their appreciation for that. When I was a Delta Connection Captain prior to Delta, I always tried to keep the passengers in the loop as much as possible regarding various situations...often via one-on-one conversation.

When I was a Cincinnati cop, situations could get personal (in a good way or a bad way) very quickly...I really enjoyed the ones that were in a good way...like helping elderly people with their garbage cans in icy conditions or helping them across a busy street...I think I even retrieved a few cats out of trees. :D

Never seen a cat skeleton in a tree... cat figured out how to climb up, cat will figure out how to climb down when it gets hungry enough.

Always thought an air horn would be a fun way to "help" a cat that was stuck in a tree.

Union buster!! That is a Fire Department task. You probably put a fire fighter out of work. Stay in your lane, copper! I bet you pick up the bags that fall off the conveyor when you are out walking around the plane.
Laughing out loud...those dang "chili cookers/eaters" need to get out there and do their job retrieving cats out of trees...and...yes, I've retrieved bags-o-plenty that have fallen off the conveyor (or baggage cart) during external preflight duties.

Did this just this morning at LAX. Delayed for a maintenance issue. 3 PAs over the course of an hour explaining what was happening and how much longer. But unlike Mad Dog, I did it from the comfort of my cockpit seat.

I've made PAs about maintenance delays in the boarding area in the past too. The Gate Agents are extremely grateful and they remember. It's always good to have the Gate Agents on your side - I've had them see I'm listed to non-rev but just pulling into the gate with my flight. Somehow the boarding process slows down, I'm checked in for my non-rev flight when I arrive at their gate, and the boarding door closes as I walk through.

If I know that they are going to close the door leaving behind late connecting pax on the last flight, I will all of a sudden have a need to go back up to the gate and check the weather. I just play on the computer until I see them arrive, then walk down the jet bridge behind them. Most agents know what's up. They are relieved because they will get in trouble if they are not authorized to wait. Once I get off for operational reasons the agents are off the hook. Works well. No point in arguing with anyone. No reason to point out you are a CAPTAIN. All you have to do is act like one without comment.

I like it. The guy screaming "I'm in charge here!" is probably compensating (poorly) for something.

Delta had had it with your emotional support / comfort chicken!

Your Emotional Support Duck Is Not Welcome in Seat 15C - Bloomberg https://apple.news/A6so9Fcg3TtKmKzlfOeYtbw
Watched some lady's clearly untrained "emotional support animal" (a beagle mix) piss on like 3 different corners at SeaTac 2 weeks ago. I asked her "what the fuck is wrong with her animal" after she indicated she had no itention of cleaning up the piss. She was taken aback and muttered under her breath before scurried out of the terminal.

I'va also seen designer labradoodles shit in the middle of the terminal and pit mixes jump on unsuspecting travelers.

This shit has gotten out of hand, and I wish the carriers/airport authorities would do more to stop it. If you want to fly with Fido, fucking crate him and ship him like you'tre supposed to.

+1. An AA agent told me that AA would be cracking down in the new year. Can't wait. BTW. I did have an emotional support duck. No shit.

Yep. Leaving SEA for HNL, saw no less than 6 pets disguised as ESDs.

I love my pups. Guess what? They go in crates in the bottom of the plane because I'm not a fucking scam artist. It'll cost me about a grand out of pocket to get them off this rock in a few months...just like it cost to get them here.
