Circular Runways?

I think someone saw a traffic circle and though why don't we do it for airplanes.
If you're on short final then you have to yield to the airplane already in the circle. So, you know, slow down or stop if you have to. Then go ahead when it's your turn to land.

Do you have to use your blinker, too? Or is it a given? Also, does the direction of travel change per country?

Okay, it's a little more obvious there.

Nice shot of CV-1 at the bottom.

Here's some out of the box thinking for you: Some things actually make sense the way they are.

;)

But . . . but . . . #disruption . . . right?

It's a dumb idea, but sometimes dumb ideas lead to good ones. Supposedly radar was developed after then-Secretary of State for Air Winston Churchill (who never met an idea too dumb to find interesting) tasked the RAF's engineers with developing an anti-aircraft death ray.

I don't know....now I am kind of fascinated by the idea of building a round carrier...a CV-R! There is no doubt it would freak out the Chinese and Russians.

I know it's a joke but I can't help myself. The whole boat thing allows you to make your own wind so there's no need for a circle.
Sure, I know that, but this way the "shoes" won't get confused with the wheel thingy up in the penthouse.

By "Penthouse", do you mean the bridge, or is that the penthouse at the top of Shangri La in Hong Kong? Cause we all know where the "cool kids" hang out...

I thought for sure a helo guy would be the one observing that there WAS apparently a need for a circle to find the wind . . .

The wind hunting circle is very different from a circle boat. Even with a circle boat the SWOs would still need to drive around aimlessly to "find winds" despite the sweet MORIAH system someone decided to equip them with.
