My recruiter got back to me today about Christmas/New Year Break. He said he doesn't have the specific dates but they will go over the timeline at OCS. Also, any travel expenses during the holiday break don't seem to be covered.

MR, I have a couple questions that my recruiter can't answer about preparing for OCS:
1.) Packing list says briefs. Is that 'righty whities' or can I wear the same pairs of boxers I've enjoyed for years?
2.) Immunization records. I had the same doctor for the first 21 years of my life, he just happens to be 4,500 miles from me. My recruiter says I need no medical paperwork since I didn't need a waiver, but different pages on here say I need shots records and some say I need everything. If I want to get any of that before the 23rd I need to get the ball rolling. What do you recommend?
3.) White undershirts. I can't read any packing list page without it emphasizing that our crew neck undershirts need a tight neckline. I hate cotton shirts that cling to my neck, it'll probably be the death of me at OCS. Are under armor (or realisticly Walmart brand with no logo) dry fit style shirts allowed if they have the emphasized tight neckline?
Thanks in advance

1. They do not care what underwear you bring. The online checklist is crappie and they are currently fixing it.
2. Bring your shot records! Unless you like shots.
3. Don't worry about white undershirts. You'll. E issued them there. I recommend getting small shirts when you get there. They fit tighter around your neck.

Hey man, thanks for offering up your help. Two quick questions:

1. How accurate were the gouges, scale of 1-10

2. Not sure if you drove but would you regret not having a car? I know there's a lot of opinions and the question has its own thread but I'm looking for yours

Thanks
Live by the gauge die by the gauge. Definitely memorize the big five before you get there. You don't need a car there. Unless it's easy for you to drive...I wouldn't drive Cross Country or anything. Totally not worth it.

got my orders Thursday. Short turnaround but checking in. I'm sure most of your orders say check in no later than the 22nd? But it sounds like we actually check in the 23rd

1, Wear whatever underwear you want but bring at least one pair of all white for dress whites. (You won't reaaly wear them in your class) but should have one pair of whites.
2, Immunization record can save you a couple of shots. They will take your blood and figure out what untibodies you have and what you need but the record would definitely help!
3, Absolutely no under armor or dry fit shirts! It will be a cotton white of blue shirt (not just OCS but the NAVY) and you will get it in the Uniform Shop in week one or two.

You check in by 0800 on the Sunday your class starts, so 23OCT16, at Callaghan Hall. Do not go to King. There will be signs around base directing you to check in.
