Just graduated ocs. Let me know if you have any questions.

Hey man, thanks for offering up your help. Two quick questions:

1. How accurate were the gouges, scale of 1-10

2. Not sure if you drove but would you regret not having a car? I know there's a lot of opinions and the question has its own thread but I'm looking for yours

Thanks

One more thing I'm really curious about is studying after Taps. Did you have a lamp in the room that you were able to use or would it be beneficial to get a headlamp or flashlight? Thanks again

Your desk has an overhead light. Yes studying after Taps is sometimes necessary, but it is also important to get rest.
To answer your other 2 questions:
1) it's around 5 aka there is good and bad gouge, and both are fluffed with personal experience and opinions
2) I drove. Didn't use my car once in candio phase simply because it wasn't necessary. However, I have be in student pool for almost 12 weeks and it has been a lifesaver. Also makes a great place to stor crap the night before graduation when you have to move out of Nimitz

Just graduated ocs. Let me know if you have any questions.

MR, I have a couple questions that my recruiter can't answer about preparing for OCS:
1.) Packing list says briefs. Is that 'righty whities' or can I wear the same pairs of boxers I've enjoyed for years?
2.) Immunization records. I had the same doctor for the first 21 years of my life, he just happens to be 4,500 miles from me. My recruiter says I need no medical paperwork since I didn't need a waiver, but different pages on here say I need shots records and some say I need everything. If I want to get any of that before the 23rd I need to get the ball rolling. What do you recommend?
3.) White undershirts. I can't read any packing list page without it emphasizing that our crew neck undershirts need a tight neckline. I hate cotton shirts that cling to my neck, it'll probably be the death of me at OCS. Are under armor (or realisticly Walmart brand with no logo) dry fit style shirts allowed if they have the emphasized tight neckline?
Thanks in advance

If you don't mind me asking, why were you in student pool for so long?

Mitcherd, I know for sure the Navy needs you to be immunized.. If you do not have records, you will get all the immunizations you need, regardless if you have received them at some point in your life. If you contact your doctor I bet you can get them or I got them from my college health services. They still had them over 2 years after graduation.

In regard to the car debate, Im driving to OCS and Im getting a pretty sweet allowance for the trip. In fact, the allowance is way more then what I actually need to cover the minimum expenses for the trip. Of course, Im sure ill have some misc. expenses on the way - but even then Ill still come out ahead.

On the other hand, Im driving from Utah and I have fuel efficient car. So not sure if it makes sense for everyone, especially if you're not a "roadtrip" type of guy
