i'm running in some really steady brooks running shoes. Was considering a minimalist style shoe for the cross training and obstacle courses we might have to do..... plus brooks are heavy as hell when it comes to doing leg raises. I've been running with super feet green Insoles as well.... thinking about trying to go back to normal.... but might not be a good idea. Don't want plantar flairing up during ocs. I'm finding my foot striking landing on the outside of the foot, and rolling towards my big toe. Not sure if this is good or bad. The arch is a bit too high for my flat feet.... sadly they don't make size 16 super feet blues :(. If any of you big time runners have some suggestions on quality shoes let me know
Minimalist shoes are not authorized at OCS. Stick to good quality running shoes.

Hello to everyone. I will be one of your class officers and wanted to introduce myself here to offer what help I can to ensure you are all set-up for success. Our website provides good information for what to bring. Be advised, you need to check-in Sunday 21AUG16 beginning at 0800hrs at Callaghan Hall. DO NOT attempt to check-in before that. Arrange lodging with the Navy Lodge or a hotel out in town for the Saturday night prior. Also, Orange Cab is authorized to enter base and know very well where to take you. Be careful with the OCS survival guide and other insider info put out on this site. There is good and valid info in there, but there is also some very incorrect info. I'm here to help you succeed, just reach out.

Because our Class date will fall in a time frame during the election, should we submit an absentee ballot, or will there be a chance for us to register and vote during OCS?

Everyone needs to report to Callaghan Hall in Training Country beginning 0800hrs on Sunday 21 AUG 16. You can use your orders to check into the Navy Lodge or Navy Gateway sooner but report for check-in and to commence training on Sunday. I know it is confusing, but if you attempt to check in before 21 AUG 16 you will be sent away because we have no way to accommodate you.

Great question. You should absolutely register for absentee. That will probably become a normality for everyone now as we are rarely present in our state of residence during an election. If you have other questions about that once you are here we can get the answers from our Voting Services Officer.
