keep all your receipts for travel, if you have to pay out front do so because you will get your money back later.
Roger! Just like any other PCS or TDY right? I'm pretty sure were going to file a hardcopy form of a travel sheet...

I am also planning to bring some uniform items, but I am trying to avoid driving up there if possible. I plan to bring my NWU items (man I hate those boots) and my PT gear. I think that is all that we can re-use as officers; correct me if I am wrong though.

I do have a couple questions that you may know the answer to:
1 - Do we as prior enlisted get leave right after OCS?
2 - How does the PCS move work for us? My wife is staying here in North Carolina while I am at OCS, so I am curious when/how the move will be taken care of.

Pete
Hey my apologies. Just saw your questions. I'm not sure what's the exact answersame to your question but you can always consult with your command PCS travel office , they will give you proper directions.

When you get your hard copy orders and your command admin and PSD will provide more information to you during checkout process.

I booked a room at the Navy Lodge also. I will have the Navy fly me up there; I have heard/read that having a car is basically useless. I am hoping to arrive in the afternoon on May 27. I cannot make travel arrangements until I have hard copy orders. Unfortunately I just found out that due to funding my hard copy orders won't be released until the last week of April.

Since we are all in the same class. Is everyone memorizing stuff? I know that they are going to find reasons to PT the crap out of us, but it'd be nice if we knew are stuff going in. Sailors creed, general orders of a sentry, articles of the code of conduct, etc....Or am I just being a boy scout lol.

I'm sure you are going to have those people in the class that have came unprepared, however I'm going to memorize everything I can so that it doesn't come down to me making the whole class suffer through more pt

Same here. I've memorized a lot so far. Code of conduct gets me. 4-6 are long statements

I am memorizing most of the App B, mainly the big three and ranks. What helps me a lot, and one other member here suggested, is to write it all out. I have a pile of scrap paper with repetitions, over and over of the big three. Hope this helps.

On an unrelated note for all, group dinner on the 28th?

The Navy Loge is now booked, but I was able to get a room for a couple of nights at the Navy Gateway Inn. For anyone who is still looking for a room, they are still vacant for that weekend.

If nobody has any objections how about we plan for a meet and greet Saturday, May 28 around 1630-1700? We can meet up in the lobby of the Navy Lodge unless someone has an alternate idea. From there we can go out in town and get a bite to eat.
