So before I left for the Far East I saw an e-mail saying that we had some agreement with microsoft that enabled military members to get a copy of Microsoft Officer for about $15. Sadly I discovered that moving to the Far East also means losing saved e-mails and I lost all of the info about the deal. Anyone know anything about this? All I can remember is that it talked about Microsoft Home Use Program. www.microsofthup.com If that helps anyone. I'd appreciate the info. Thanks again!

Yes there is an agreement with Microsoft that you get the Microsoft Enterprise 2007. It's all of the Office products they offer and you pay I think $20 or $30 total.

Check your pm.

How do I get the program code?

Follow link above, enter your .mil address and they send you what you need to DL the install files at home. The program code can be found in another thread on here under the same general topic. The only disadvantage is that you get the "new" Office 2007 (or whatever) which has completely redone their user interface and you will have to go through the pain of relearning how to do all the stuff you already know how to do in word, excel, etc.

Another option for those that don't want to spend a lot of money is Open Office at www.openoffice.org. I use it at home, works great and can import/export docs in a variety of word compatible formats. Has the equivalent of word, excel, and more of the office suite.

That thread is right here. The website in that thread requires your CAC. This was so easy and so cheap that it feels wrong.

Does it AutoComplete evals? Fill out counseling chits? Recommend leave requests and out-of-bounds chits? Do mission planning? Is there a "Yes, Chief" shortcut for Ensigns? An "aye-aye, Skipper" button for hinges?
