I believe and NKO is in order, one with 21st century graphics and realistic dialogue.
Basic SERE is on NKO. We have all civil servants take it as its required for most country clearances, even Japan. I'm sure if you visit CENTCOM's website its required to enter that AOR.

Well of course. I am wondering if there shouldnt be something like an executive course, 4-8 hours classroom. At least give them some tools since the actual field training may not be possible.

We did when we stood up that mission. Or at least something similar. Dunno what they do now.

While I am very interested in how these boats ended up in Iranian water, how if one of them had a casualty, the other didn't tow that one out, how they let themselves get "arrested" with all of those weapons and ammo when I'm pretty sure the law of the sea allows vessels to enter territorial waters if they are in distress, what I'm really concerned with is how these idiots acted once in custody and on video. I don't need more to the story to know I don't like what I see on the videos.


What does that have to do with anything?

People getting up in arms about "an apology" (okay.gif), yet don't even talk about the context of what's gone on prior to it.

To wit:
We are very sorry the entering of China's airspace and the landing did not have verbal clearance, but very pleased the crew landed safely. We appreciate China's efforts to see to the well-being of our crew.

To be sure, this whole situation is a win for everyone except those that want to see war.

Are there any "less lethal" means of deterring a neutral/hostile force from doing a maritime interdiction (like VBSS) on our small/medium size surface vessels?

I wonder if there is a "middle ground" of countermeasures, somewhere between unconditional surrender (e.g. this incident or Hainan island) ...and... firing the M240 or .50cal at the pursuing ship, being outgunned, risking the lives of your entire crew, and potentially starting a shooting war that would be terrible for everyone.

I just heard that the comms were actively jammed preventing any link to chain of command. ROE likely was to stand down if confronted by IRIN.

Now curiosity rising on what the real story is. Do Combatent Craft /SBU cadre attend SERE?

Ah, good point sir! Then I guess job #1 to prevent future incidents like this one is for the IWC to enable 100% secure, un-jammable comms. Total RF spectrum dominance.

DARPA has been working on something like this. It's based on particle physics using conjoined atoms (Einstein called "spooky action at a distance").
