And they still haven't delivered any operational ones yet...and its not an entirely new airframe...your point exactly?:D

Well the P-8 isn't exactly a new airframe either :icon_tong:). But, I hear besides the airframe, the 737 and the P-8 don't have as much in common as you'd think.

"The Growler team put together a program plan that...has remained on cost and schedule, while meeting or exceeding all performance parameters. I don't get to say that very often about our programs," said The Hon. Delores Etter, assistant secretary of the Navy for Research, Development and Acquisition, during the delivery ceremony at Boeing Integrated Defense Systems facilities in St. Louis.

I saw a P-3 bouncing at Kona today. First time in 5+ years I've seen the mighty War Pig in flight. She looked great.

If it was around 11-1130am, that was me!!! Wizard17... 4 hour tour of the islands, Hilo, Kona, Kahului, Lihue and back to Kbay.... Or maybe not, we had a Dragon and an Eagle flying around out there also... Great day for flying, saw 10 or so whale pods. So, basically, we were probably getting in the way of your approach :D

Did you hear those guard calls for Raider? ouch...

That was you - Wizard. Who'd have thought it.....

I did do the ILS for my IOE line check but it was when I was taxing out that I saw the P-3. Hawaiian 168 inbound and Hawaiian 167 outbound.

Those Raider guys were AFU.....HCF said they were a flight of B-52s (they really got in my way....).

Except for Kbay, those are the same places I hit today.

It was a sad day in the Hummer community when the Fightin' Escargots hung up their spurs.

Haha. I'm curious, for those going P8s, will they still be flying the T-44/TC-12B or would they go to something like the T1?

My guess is that they'll stay with the T-44/12 line. I don't think orders to P-8 squadrons will be determined until going to VP-30, which will have both the P-3 and the P-8.
