Oh boy I enjoyed shootin the women thread, now it's time for the gays.
Here are my thoughts,-whether you like to hear them or not.
Keep the "don't ask don't tell" policy. I actually like the policy.
Everyone in the military is forced to sacrifice. What the "dont" policy does is require homos that want to serve in the military to keep their shit quiet, out of view, and to themselves. I love it.
I don't go around telling everyone or flaunting to everyone the fact that I'm heterosexual and captivated by the female disposition (ok maybe I do a little on that last part), so why the hell does the dude next store feel compelled to tell everyone in his unit that he likes it in the pooper? Let's keep the "don't" policy and more importantly keep these guys in the closet. If they really want to serve their country they can do so under the pretense that they are normal masculine men who talk without a lisp or the femmy hand motions of my 16 year old sister. I don't mind serving with them as long as I don't know they're gay. What I don't know ain't gonna bother me.
And Nugget61, with all these "metros" from Cali and the Northeast coming in, it keeps us regular folk guessing.
