Just wondering if anyone could comment on what daily life is like while on cruise? How often are you in the air and what duties do you do when you aren't

The golf is my favorite part....and the Hollywood showers!......wait you are asking about the Navy...........imagine taking a frat that flies high performance aircraft on a warship for 6 months....half the time you are sticking it to the man...the other half the man is sticking it to you with retarded rules....oh yeah and you are tax free.....its better than life in the AF and the job you do is done by the top 1% of the top 1% of 20/30 something Americans.

I personally surf airwarriors while on cruise and use the search function. It gets me answers inbetween my four square meals a day. Thats right, sometimes I get up early for breakfast.

Deployment is pretty interesting. It was simultaneously the best experience of my life and the worst. I mean, how can carrier landings become routine? Well, they did. Cruise sucks, but we got to fly our asses off and see the world. You wake up and plan your day around the flight schedule. If you are flying, you prep for that. When you aren't flying, you owe it to your troopers to make their life as good as possible, which takes up the rest of your day. Try to squeeze in a workout and maybe catch a movie or play some Xbox. The life of a pilot is pretty busy and no matter how bad if gets on that stinky box. . . .you are entitled to 1.5 hours of airborne liberty. God Bless America.

It's great. In days past, you were in the air for @ 2.5 or so per day .... the rest of the time was spent eating, sleeping, skating, sleeping, sleeping, sleeping, or hiding ... :)

It's great.

Ditto that. Great is an understatement IMHO. So many things to see/learn on that bird farm. Must take advantage of every opportunity, such an education if you avail yourself when otherwise not busy. I did and truely enjoyed it.

Understand from some of the pointy nose folks that they were in the air about 7 hours every other day, but varies greatly. Of course you will have a "day job" but that does not keep you very busy.

Roger that, MC ... I loved cruise. Seriously, for all you non-believers.

But 7 hours riding a rocket seat??? I've done it a few times; never want to do it again. I hope they stock lots of Prep-H in the ship's store ... :)
